long story short:

A&M was so bad one year the coaches made a bet with each other that they could pull random kids out from the stands and they would do just as well. They were proven correct and aggy made a tradition out if it.

quite possibly one of the worst troll attempts ever on the rant.

come on now, even an Arky troll wouldn't toss out such weak sauce.

Another detail the OP didn't mention:

At the time Gill was called in, the Aggies only had 11 players able to take the field. If they had one more injury, they would have to forfeit due to only having 10 players capable of playing. Gill was called out of pure desperation and had to change in the bleachers to the uniform of an injured player.

Pretty Much.

When I am in Reed for a game I just want to find that guy and sit next to him, but I will settle for Gumby.

I know the original Gumby, I think his brother wears the outfit now. Nothing gets chicks like guys in green.

I wanna say the original Gumby was a pretty avid TexAgs poster, but I could be wrong. It's been awhile.

Man, you put away that 49ers sig image with the quickness.

It's like Sherman marched right through your heart and burned it to the ground.

My deepest sympathies, brah.

Not trolling here. I think that, while the 12 Man is a great tradition for A&M, this is a MUCH better story:

Glasses really make it work tho. Take away the glasses and much is lost.
