Meh, A&M is very highly respected in the engineering community, which leads to well paying jobs for its graduates. The faculty is top notch and the research produced at A&M is also top notch. For reference (because I'm a civil/structural grad and because I just saw this today), here is one of the civil department's top professors commenting on New Zealand's building integrity in wake of this year's earthquake. Pretty cool, in my opinion.

It may not rank as an elite in the nation, but its graduates do very well getting into and staying in their industries.
