But, I think the reason a lot of our fans aren't so willing to discuss it here is because people are taking a lot of joy in this.
So LSU fans have thin skins? Not really a shocking revelation.
Honestly I don't think yall are giving us enough credit. In the other Rant thread on the previous news many were in support of LSU. We understand there are bigger things at play here than the GOTCHA of winning "The Rant Game."
Heck A&M was staring down a barrel like this when it looked like Rick Perry was going to completely gut our reputation to turn A&M into some conservative version of what the education system "should be" (aka just job training for cheap). It took a lot of wrangling, and even a new chancellor, for those plans to be minimized. But heck we will still have to deal with the ballooning of the engineering department as a side effect of these previous plans.
So we aren't immune to bad news, no one is. We aren't demanding that you spill your guts about your deep down worst case fears, but when yall all try to approximate the Iraq Information Minister it seems like there is a bigger story here getting covered up. Let us look at your damn dirty laundry once, everyone gets to see Aggie's dirty laundry every day on the Rant.
I hate it for LSU. A strong LSU is a cornerstone of a strong SEC, and I know as a native Louisianan that if your best hope relies on competent political leadership getting you out of that situation you are basically fricked. We would all love to this to blow over and we can get back to arguing about Chavis again.
Really it doesn't effect athletics at all so there is nothing to win or lose in Rant terms. All there can be is to talk about it, and if you don't want to talk about it with us then don't get upset if we do it without you. It is the most interesting thing happening at any SEC school right now by far.

That's crazy. It boggles the mind how something like this could happen.
I assume you are trolling, if not, then you are a dumbass.
The State contributes 15% of LSU's budget.....so essentially LSU would lose 12% of their revenue.....not small change for sure, but certainly not a death sentence. If it happens, they'll make that up.....certainly LSU doesn't need $$ for sports...as they are one of the few programs in the country that turns a profit in sports.....

That's funny coming from a state that had a monumental idiot like Rick Perry running things for 15 years.

LOL....hate what? The reason we don't make a big deal out of it is because it ISN'T a big deal....people like you WANT it to be....but it simply isn't. This is a joke.

A credit rating downgrade is not a joke. See this is the exact minimization I am talking about.

I have never laughed at LSU for this. I did make what I think is a fair connection to the optics of the Chavis lawsuit, but that is as far as I will go connecting this to athletics or anything rant worthy.
In fact in my post history time and time again I have said that a strong LSU is good for A&M. This is the opposite of that.
But it is a big deal, and it deserves more than being considered the doings of a single power hungry politician.

Nah, they didn't fail. It wasn't a very big city at the time but they burned it to the ground and everything had to be rebuilt.
