for "personal reasons"

Interesting with the NCAA investigating Southern Miss/Tyndall.

Hopefully, he'll be enough of a fall guy.

Is this the end of Dave Hart?

I don't think so. His main objective is to get football healthy and it's slowly getting there.

I don't think Hart will hang Tyndall out to dry the way Hammy did with Pearl. Also, since this didn't happen at UT we've got a lot better case. Basketball coaches who stay ahead of the lawmen have gotten off pretty easy. BUT this is UT we're talking about so who the hell knows.

Definitely seems like UT is trying to appease the NCAA with a sacrifice.

Sadly there's as much a chance that you catch the NCAA on a bad day when they feel like "making an example" as there is you catch them on a "we dun fricked this up" Miami investigation type of day.

I think if it ends up being bad Hart will send Tyndall packing and fire up the coaching search.. but I agree he will stand by him and argue it didn't happen at UT.

Or you get an investigator that's a graduate from your archrival. A kU grad ran the basketball portion of the Miami investigation. Totally coincidentally, I'm sure.

No, he did his due diligence by contacting the former school AND the NCAA before the hire and was given the all clear.

That said, I'm not a Hart fan. He's cheap and seem hellbound and determined to kill our women's programs (that usually wouldn't be a big deal but we have a great history and a top brand that's national and a diehard fanbase that loves women's basketball and our Softvols to name two - but women's sports has been historically very strong here compared to elsewhere). AND we've supported women's sports for several decades, not just the LV basketball team and are well known across the nation for the job we've done. And it goes beyond what you might think male fans, especially wealthy blue hairs, adore our LV's and follow them the same as the men.

Though football will always take priority, lots of people (young and old) are NOT happy with Hart's handling of women's sports at all. That aspect is a lot more likely to get him a revolt than this because LOTS of wealthy donors follow our women.

Summitt truly was god-like to us. We'd have considered her for men's sports had she ever wanted it. And again that cuts across genders. Guy like VF30 excluded.
