So he was hurt to the point of putting no pressure on it and being carried off the field prior to actually leaving the game?
It was pretty obvious that's when he initially injured his knee. Everyone in the game thread commented on his obvious gimpiness and the knee brace on the series. As well as waiving off Mason. When he was carried off was the first time he had really been hit after the fact. And as I said, that's football. Your pettiness in trying to make it seem malicious or intentional is silly. My guess is he had a partial tear from the awkward way his leg twisted on the tackle from the long run. And at that point it's as much on Murray for not taking himself out (I'd have done the same so I'm not saying he was wrong) as it was the guy who hit him last.

And no, I can honestly say I didn't watch every second of our 59-17 win.

I didn't see the game but sorry the kid got hurt. Move the drill, continue on.
But how is Murray's injury anymore of a "tragedy" than any other injury that requires surgery? I'm positive it wasn't on purpose.
ETA:
Responded to wrong person. No reason to hate 94

I'd be down for the Saints to pick him up and learn under Brees for a while.
That would definitely be a prime situation for him to be in. He could learn a lot from Brees..

I don't think it was intentional, but the timing of this injury is pretty tragic. He's not going to be able to work out for pro teams, which could literally cost him millions. He also had to be carried off the field in his last college game.

And there have been players that have had same fate McGahee ie to have same thing.
It's an inherent risk of playing.

The timing of it. It flat sucks for him knowing it'll hurt his draft status and he's done for his college career after being carried off on his Senior Night.
I'm sure we could get into a discussion of why it's different then just a Joe Schmo with the same injury but that's such a silly debate.

No. not to that extent. However, he had tweaked the knee. My guess is he had a small tear, or sprain and when he came back in and got hit, it finished the job. He should have gone out and protected himself, but that is not his character. No penalty was called. I saw nothing inherently wrong with the hit. It was just at a bad angle. Had he not been in the game he might would be ready for at least the bowl game, but nobody can see the future. it is what it is. No amount of finger pointing or blame placing will make his knee alright.

Belle you as a former SAT should understand the sentiment I'm getting at.

And those injuries are similarly tragic. No one is saying that it's not a risk of playing. It's just unfortunate, and people feel sorry for him.

I understand what you're saying. But it's not out of bounds for people to feel sorry for him given the context of events. I didn't play college sports because of a knee injury my senior year. It sucked something awful. But there's a distinct difference in a HS girl from Kentucky and a SEC FBS starting QB millions have watched in his career. It doesn't lessen one or the other, it's the reality of the context.
But you are correct in that injuries happen and it seems most here agree that it is just the nature of football.

Wish him the best going forward, seems like a good guy. Terrible luck this year for him and the dawgs.

I truly feel bad for UGA. It's just not fair....top WR's out, top 2 running backs out for extended time, hail mary vs. Auburn, and now Murray can't even finish his freaking career.
The only consolation is that UF is having an even worse season.

This just popped up from Seth Emerson on Twitter:
@SethEmerson: Mark Richt says Aaron Murray "felt something pop" on his 28-yd run in the second quarter. It proved to be the ACL. He played two more drives

I had such a bad feeling about injuries last night even before the game started.

Will this screw him up for the draft?
I doubt it. Unless teams are planning on rewriting the books and having him throw with his feet.
The NFL has more or less put a red shirt and a tutu on the QB now. He'll still be more mobile than an average QB when he comes off surgery/rehab.

Murray is a beast and a hell of a player. Love his attitude towards every game but when you tweak your acl you stay out

End of an era at UGA. Hopefully the next QB to take the helm will be equally as classy. Lot's of respect in this thread as well. Hope someone drafts him into a good situation because he has certainly earned a look at the NFL. I don't think the first round tag will be his future but I could see a 3rd round look from a team that has an established QB.
Wish him the best.
Wish him the best.
