Since when has it not been? Kerrville is 65 miles north of San Antonio. Maybe your geography is flawed, jackass.

Still closer to San Antonio than it is to Austin, Temple, Waco, Killeen, Belton, and several other cities in CENTRAL Texas.

So they won a conference that won't even be playing football next season and is regarded as the weakest conference in college football (even weaker than the Sun Belt now).

TCU trailed La. Tech almost the whole bowl game before winning by 7.
Houston was down by 20 points before coming back to win in the 4th Quarter.
Southern Miss needed a late FG to win by 2 points.

All three of these teams were very good and top 25 teams last season.

It's 10 miles S. of Austin and about 70 or so west through similar geography. Are you like this in real life? If in discussing something pertaining to Ohio someone casually used the term "Midwest" to descibe the region it's located in, would you then butt-in off-topic to argue that Ohio is neither in the middle nor the west of the country?

Most of us know La Tech is good and it will likely be a pretty close game. I don't see how the rain benefits La Tech though since we have a much stronger run game.

Also TCU lost to two teams that we absolutely crushed last year. They weren't that great compared to their past teams. I guess they've officially reached the point where people see their name on the jersey though and assume they're good, so that's quite an accomplishment for them

La Tech is a good football team and if A&M plays poorly it can absolutely lose. That said, A&M has a talent edge across the board and the rain would likely favor them. Adverse weather in Shreveport does crazy things though as the State fans remember from the Snow Bowl. A&M just ran Jamaar Toombs all day long and ran him well but there were so many crazy fumbles, people falling down, and bizarre kicks it ended up going State's way with the last play of course being a blocked FG.

Still, put long cleats on Michael, Williams, and Manziel and odds are they are going to make life rough on La Tech. The tougher thing is really the likelihood of high winds as much as the rain. High winds really mess with a passing game of over 10 yards and Tech will need to throw downfield successfully to beat A&M. On the flip side if this was A&M vs UF the following week I would not feel very good about it as I think A&M will need an effectively passing game to beat the Gators.

Oh, and Kerrville is Central Texas. It is also part of the Greater SA area but that isn't relevant. Kerrville is a Hill Country town and the Hill Country is what is considered Central Texas. Culturally it isn't South Texas at all. It certainly isn't South Texas or West Texas. San Antonio is essentially the border for Central/South Texas. The Northern part is Central Texas, South of SA is South Texas.

In what way would that be an advantage to LaTech?? We have the far superior OL and running game.

TCU lost to SMU at home 40-33.

A&M beat SMU 46-14.

Getting back to the OP, I think they plan on making a decision in the next couple of hours. They have looked at options and apparently concluded that we either play as scheduled, or push it back to October 13 when both schools have an open date. The coaches would much prefer to play as scheduled, but I think the administrators are concerened about having fans, and team personnel, traveling, before and after the game.

Inquiries were apparently made with Shreveport area hotels regarding availability for Saturday, if they were to reschedule the game, and the answer was negative. So, it's apparently Thursday or put it off until October.

Why not Friday? The storm is going to be a day long event occurring pretty much all day Thursday in Shreveport.

I would be very surprised if they move it to Oct 13. Both schools really don't want that.

Agreed. If this was us playing Florida, we'd need all of our air firepower to offset their power at D-Line. But against Tech, where we hold the LOS advantage, we can run it all game and win.

Both culturally and in terms of landscape. The rich inhabit homes in the hills of the Balcones Escarpment overlooking SA. It looks and feels like hill country living. This is Central Texas, where Kerrville is located. Drop below I-10 in SA and it looks and feels like a flat, dry South Texas barrio. The cultural contrast is as stark as the elevation.

Saw this on TA

Liucci is doing a Dallas Morning News chat, and said the following:

2:11
Liucci: Yes, as of 2:11 pm. I expect it to be played and would be stunned if they cancelled it

No, I'm not a Liucci worshiper, but usually if he says something like that he heard it from the AD, because he does not like painting himself into a corner and being "wrong".

He REALLY hates it when he is wrong and gets called out. Absolutely cannot STAND it when a "mere free board poster" shows him up.

two things

#1 Liucci acts like a spoiled child who just got told no for the first time when he is questioned.

#2 Kerrville is in Central Texas.
