I wanna know what A&M's win probably was with 40 sec left in regulation. Had to be <0.1%.

Just messing with you random. I always have hope that one day something will rub you in just the wrong way on here and you will turn into the Rant equivalent of the Incredible Hulk.

I feel you. I lived in West Texas for over a decade total in my life. Most of it sucks.

Heck my username comes from that. I always joked when flying in on a plane West Texas looks like a cardboard box because it's brown and flat. So because I lived in West Texas when I registered on here I called myself the "cardboardboxer" as in someone that lives on that box.

When that day comes, I promise to direct all my rage -- and my connections with international corporate assassins -- in your general direction.

I had wondered where the name came from, but I just assumed you just had a special and possibly illegal fetish for corrugation. And punching. But mostly corrugation.

With that said, that foul on caruso's layup with like 10 seconds left was bogus.

Yeah, that was a seriously deserved make-up call. That Ref screwed us at least 3 times on the other end.

I think it was on the Ags last score of regulation but the UNI player would've been better off just hauling the ball in the air and across the court. Can't really blame him though, a lot of pressure and little time to think.

4 inbounds turnvers. Figure 15% chance to get each of those. A 3 pointer and a 3 points play - figure 30% chance for each of those. 4 layups - figure 80% chance for each of those. That's .15 x .15 x .15 x .15 x .30 x .30 x .80 x .80 x .80 x .80 = .00001866.

Call it a .002% chance. What's that? 2 times out of a hundred thousand?

You also need to factor in the fact that UNIs primary inbound player for the past few years had just blown out his knee earlier in the game which allowed for this insanity to even take place

I assume when that day come the target will be a Tenn fan.

I can't say that I don't like corrugation. It looks cool.

Actually, Texas was pretty nice. There are some beautiful parts. But being stuck in the Panhandle in late June, with no town closer than 30 miles...just give that back to the Mexicans.

West Texas has its uses, mainly that is is loaded with oil and other minerals that fund the PUF that makes A&M rich as hell. Also it has some surprisingly beautiful areas in the midst of some of the most boring and flat land in the US such as the Palo Duro Canyon just South of Amarillo.

Sorry. I...I once had a cracked radiator in the Panhandle in a car occupied by four other very sweaty human beings. I'm still getting over the trauma. I'm sure the rest of the state is very nice.

Where i'm from, if somebody dropped you off without telling you where you were, you literally wouldn't be able to tell that you weren't in Georgia. Come to East TX and you'll feel right at home.

Every Texan should take a trip from Houston or so all the way to Texline, just to experience the unbelievable amount of nothing. That stretch was rivaled only by southern Wyoming in terms of "nothing to see here" when I moved out to Portland.

Uh, while you have to give A&M credit for taking advantage of opportunities, UNI threw that game away.

One inexcusably awful mistake after the next, over and over.

A&M is a lottery winner more so than a financial genius.

A&M forced those turnovers just as much as UNI made mistakes.

Strategy to not foul knowing that UNI's inbounder of 3 years was out of the game was the key IMO

UNI had to have an incredible number of mistakes, that is true. Our team also had to take advantage of them scoring at the end of a game where we just couldn't find the basket, plus have an incredible press game that we don't hardly use.

I think it is fair to say that we are just as, if not more, responsible for earning that win as UNI was for giving it away.

Yeah, the defender was moving in the arc but Caruso created whatever contact there was by swinging out his legs.

On the other hand, I've complained about similar fouls being called all season:

defender is moving but not "jumping the path" of the dribbler and then the offensive player initiates any contact to the point there's not much else the defender could do aside from wait out of bounds until the basket is made.

The defender should get out of the way if he doesn't want a foul called, contact occurred end of story

I would rather drink toxic waste, lol. If I had a vote, East TX would be its own state. Some parts of the hill country are nice, but I just would't care to live anywhere but DFW, Lake Austin, and ET. I have driven from Austin up to Lubbock a few times, I always feel like I'm in the old west and can't believe that people actually choose to live there. lol. There's just something about not having pine trees around that makes me uneasy.

I think the point people are making is that the defender seems to be trying to get out of the way, matador style and then some and Caruso kicks out his legs toward the defender.

I do agree that it's very dumb on the part of the defender in that situation to even give the remotest chance of getting a foul called.

Also, smart of Caruso to try everything he could to initiate contact.

I also pointed out that these phantom blocking fouls have been called all season which makes it an even dumber play on the part of the defender.

However, if that's really what we agree should be a foul, then about 95% of every shot made in the lane will be a plus one.
