So if Stansbury is out (if he's the only one, I can live with that), who starts at strongside end, Taylor or Alexander (and does Jay Arnold play)?

Oh for heavens sakes, I could start for ATM and they would still win this game.

Part of me feels that all these suspensions are to show the NCAA that we are not losing institutional control because of the JFF BS. It seems like alot of them are stupid the stupid half game variety

Why are these players supposedly suspended? I think you could play with the second string and still win.

I'm hearing because of the ambiguous "violation of team rules" (sound of toking...)

That is weird. Violation of team rules is usually just pissing off the coach. Like I said I don't think it will matter. Second team still beats rice.

The only thing I know about Rice is that an Alabama player came off the bench (literally) to tackle a Rice player who was en route for a touchdown in the 1954 Cotton Bowl. Tommy Lewis.

Here is another thing to know about Rice. Their players actually attend class.

I wanted to see our Fish today, but I didn't expect to see them til the 3rd quarter. It may look like a monkey working a math problem the first couple of series, but they'll figure it out. Thank God this offseason is about to be over. Just friggin play footbaw already, jeez.

The Rice running back was College Football Hall of Fame member Dickie Maegle. (formally spelled Moegle)

He went on to play for San Franciso, Pittsburgh and Dallas.

Those were back in the days when Rice was pretty good and needed that 80,000 seat stadium. Stadium is still there but seldom do they get a crowd of over 10,000.
Student body is less than 5,000 and is the second smallest Division I school in NCAA.

Great place to get an education or play baseball.

My nephew was a 4 year football letterman there in the 1990's. His sophomore year they opened with road games with Texas, UCLA and Florida State. All three schools were ranked. Should have canned the AD, who is now at TCU.

IMHO they should drop to FCS but they have a ton of money and are stubborn.

texags in full delete and cya mode. Rumors on other sites are that Stansbury is also out. Rumors have to do with failed drug tests.

I got the ban hammer for posting that last night.
