We agree our ground game needed a boost. Over the offseason we hired a new coach to basically be our running game coordinator because that was a deficiency in the past.
Will it work out? Who knows, we never know until the football games are played.

FWIW, LSU hired Billy Gonzalez in 2010 as our passing game coordinator, and subsequently put forth our worst passing performance of the Les Miles era.

I disagree, the soft approach is more compatible with their core values. Male chearleaders can't root for a team that is actually tough.

The biggest problem I have with Sumlin is that he appears to be a lazy recruiter. Saban and Miles out recruit him almost every time and Strong appears to kicking his arse this year too. Very few of 2016 top 20 Texas HS recruits list A&M as their favorites.

Saban has outrecruited everyone in the country the past 10 years basically. Miles is at LSU, recruiting won't ever be a problem...
Sumlin is kicking Strong's arse head to head. Last year was actually a worse arse kicking than strongs first class according to head to heads, he was just able to take a bigger class.
