Sumlin is the difference for A&M... we will be just fine when JFF leaves if we retain Sumlin.

this got turned into a jff vs mett deal but my main point is i think sumlin's stock is gonna go down when jff turns pro. he had better recievers, better OL and better RB's last year. and the defense has also taken a step backwards. i agree that 2 years is not a long enough sample to be conclusive i am just calling it the way i see it. sumlin came in and inherited a hell of a lot of talent with a once in a lifetime qb. the jury is still out on how good of a coach he is no matter who wants to annoint him as the greatest. your schedule want be this easy every year and one of these days maybe y'all will schedule an ooc team with a pulse.

Defense unquestionably took a step back. Nobody is arguing that. Injuries have plagued us as well as coming from a conference where defensive recruiting was not the most vital part of the team.

In all reality, nobody (including aggies fans) expected us to be competitive until we got a full SEC recruiting class through the system. 15' at the earliest 16' being more likely.

Sumlin is an AMAZING QB coach. yes Johnny is a once in a generation/lifetime QB. And yes our offense might be hurting, but it will not be hurt any more the LSU, UGA, or Bama. Difference is LSU and Bama have the defensive history of being able to survive a new QB. Aggies dont yet.

So forgive us for enjoying the 2-4 years expedited success, but you are just going to have to deal with it.

Crying? LOL... thats one thing you wont see outta us. I just told you to deal with us coming in a messing up your precious little conference with a high powered offense. If that is crying, what do you call the epic Fire Les meltdowns yall are so prone to having?

While that is all true...

Who cares? I don't gauge A&M's success relative to Arky

OP's point remains taken but we are better than at least 8/12 programs in the SEC and have the resources to stay that way, and hopefully improve.

I guess that's why they're "top SEC opponents"?

LSU is 2-2 over the same period against the same teams. The only difference being the one LSU A&M game during that time. Taken away, they both have 1-2 records.

So you are saying we are better than you

arky has a concensus NC just like y'all. if they were bama no one would challenge it. 1964? somewhere around there.

but overall, y'all have a better program long term and it's likely to stay that way.

The titles he's claiming were won in '19, '27 and '39. The last one preceded ours by 25 years.

For the record, Arkansas had more wins and a better winning percentage when we left the SWC for the SEC. A&M does have better resources, but they're classic underachievers and it may be years before they win another game against a "top SEC opponent".

So your saying A&M isn't a top SEC opponent?

This graph is not accurate:

It suggests Mett actually has a positive rushing total.
