This type of practice has been going on for what seems like two decades now.

I thought a misleading thread title was cause for a thread being locked or anchored and the poster possibly being banned. This thread title is just slightly misleading

Some of y'all are really behind on this it seems. Players have been doing this since Willis McGahee's knee injury.

There is no malicious intent behind this or any competitive advantage gained.

The point is the school is paying for the policy. I've never heard of a school paying for an injury insurance policy before. If you'd read the article that's what it's about.

Who said I hate the Aggies? I found a lot of their posters on this board to be delusional morons at one time, but it seems like they haven't been as bad lately

I think the question isn't whether he should have one. It absolutely makes sense for a player with a high draft grade to carry an insurance policy. The question is how the NCAA would allow the school to pay for it rather than the player. If the school pays for it, it's definitely a benefit not offered the general student population (but certainly offered employees, which really, really complicates the current NCAA court case) and if it's used to entice a player to stay an extra year, or attend in the first place, that can be construed as a benefit/competitive advantage.
