Me, i'm thrilled, just responding to the question posed.

Sorry you didn't like my answer. Probably because it rings with too much truth.

Again, thanks for commenting on our behalf.

Can I comment on Auburn fans' behalf?

Commenting on Aubie's behalf:
"We are the greatest team the SEC has ever seen. Luck was not a factor. God so loved his buzzards that he blessed us from on high. FSU will not cross the 50. We will score at will. We wish we were Alabama. LSU was a fluke. Nick Marshall is better than JFF, JW, AJ, Joe Montana, Bret Favre, Terry Bradshaw, etc. We men at Auburn enjoy the company of other men. We really wish we would have hired BB. Roll Tide. Jesus wore a hounds tooth. We all need a large shaft up the tail pipe, fast. Praise Allah. Bo Jackson had sex with 2 and 40 horses."

Just telling you about the treads i saw. No idea why it's got you in this much of a twist.

Figured talking about this was better than talking about where saban is going/staying. Shocked to find the same outrage in this thread as those.

It's in a twist because you are taking things out of context.

I think the best way to describe the game is we lost it because our defense sucked and couldn't hold the many leads they were given. At the same time Johnny's injury (as well as some mistakes) as well as the horsecollar certainly didn't help.

In the end though we weren't robbed and had our chances to win. Just a tough pill to swallow, that game really was a turning point for both teams. I will say that when Johnny went down and then when he came back and wasn't able to lead us to a win you knew something just wasn't the same. The LSU and Mizzou games you could tell Johnny was hurt and trying to force things as well.

That's the SEC though, you have to fight through it because injuries happen and bad breaks happen.

No big deal, my man. Just making an observation and disagreeing with your characterization of what Aggies attribute the loss to.

The OP directed his question to "A&M Fans" and you spoke up saying that we (A&M Fans) believe (or believed) that it was the horse collar and JFF's injury that caused the loss. No A&M fan here agrees with you. Almost every Aggie on this thread and the Rant in general has universally said that our d was the cause or a main cause of the losses to Alabama and Auburn. The JFF injury was a factor, to be sure. A horse collar call would have help us not give up points on that drive. But we couldn't stop Jack shite in the second half. We scored enough points to win the game. The d was mainly to blame, even though you saw some Aggies complaining about the horse collar or making excuses about JFF's injury.

You are speaking up for Aggies and saying shite we don't agree with. That's all I am saying. Don't speak for us, especially if you are going to make us look like a bunch of whiny excuse makers. We leave that to the Corndogs.

The JFF injury definitely made a difference in the Auburn game. Due to our poor defense we basically were unable to hold serve when JFF went out. Bringing in our backup cold and him unable to complete a short pass into the end zone was the killer. The horse collar was also probably a factor.

JFF hurt his thumb on his throwing hand when he hit his center's helmet while throwing in the MSU game. Obviously this affected him more than anything against LSU and Mizzou since his remarkable accuracy went into the tank the last two games.

The bottom line though is to win in this league you better have depth to address short or long term injuries or you won't win / don't deserve to win.

If we played today, though, I don't think we beat Auburn with or without a healthy JFF no matter where we play that game. They just kept getting better.

Agree with this.

Auburn was on the rise and getting better when we played. They hadn't peaked (still haven't peaked). I remain very confident that the SEC streak will reach 8.

Joeckel came in at 3rd and goal at the 3 yardline or so and had a tight end open and missed him on an easy pass low and we settled for a field goal.

The next drive we went 3 and out and Joeckel again had a bad pass on the series throwing to a wide open Labhart in the middle of the field about 2 yards from the line to gain and he threw it low and behind him so that Labhart had to go to the ground to catch it instead of catching and easily getting a first.

The injury was a factor, but it was one of several. Our backup could have been better, our defense could have been better, we could have already put the game away, etc.

...and the lovely horse-collar.

Refs thought we were playing v Bama I guess.

But we lost because our defense blows donkey nuts.

I mean, JFF was doing just about what he wanted before and after he got hurt.

We had to score. Of course he gives us a better chance to do that than Joeckel.

If the injury doesn't happen we probably score on that drive and certainly don't go 3 and out on the next.

It's whatever.

What horsecollar? There was a clean tackle by Kris Frost if that is what you are referring to

ehh semantics. it's my observation after the post from this place following that game and through some of you guys chiming in on the luck of auburn season how we'd have a loss without jeff getting hurt.

There was a clear disclaimer that i'm not an aggy fan and it was solely based on the the post from this place. Surely you can separate that out from being a blanket statment about the thinking of the entire aggy fanbase.

With all that said, it's interesting to see some of your fellow fans taking the position that yes, without those things you guys woudl have won.

He was shown in several pictures during the weeks of the last 3 games with tape on his hands, etc. Not sure what the story behind it is, they kept it pretty quiet.

To me it looked like his shoulder was bothering him....just enough to throw off his accuracy. It's one thing to miss a throw now and then, but he missed on throws he usually made.
