Most of the counselors are shitty Aggies anyway.

Completely untrue.

Fish camp is a joke. It's for the counselors, not the freshmen.

Yeah certainly, for some. If you are socially awkward then it can be hard to talk to girls in class.

With females? That's like saying pigs are bad at ice fishing. Who cares? It's a skill you'll never need.

In the future, please refrain from inquiries regarding aggie 'traditions'. You'll only waste your time and it annoys the pig.

thx, mgt.

Counselor for 3 years and then a co-chair. We teach them about A&m, college life, and how high school no longer matters. Then we give them a network of people to hang out with once they get back to campus. That parts straight forward

There's a method to the madness with the goofy hair and costumes but that's a little harder to explain. It kinda goes back to the proving high school doesn't matter. We as counselors act obnoxious to lower their guard and show no one gives a shite how cool they try to act.

I realize I'll get blasted, but I met my wife and and a lot of great friends in fish camp.

Fish Camp is just the first part of the brainwashing into the cult.

You know, I won't trash them for having yet another obtuse tradition. They cherish it and it brings them together in a relatively wholesome fashion. Kudos to them for a sense of community, fun, and pride.

All childish bullshite aside, other schools would be fortunate to have a bond as tight as theirs. And, their fans are all class.

It was fun. Nice to meet people before starting school. Gets students invested in the University early on. It's no surprise our alumni association is as good as it is.
