South Carolina, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas, and Auburn.
Somehow, with all of LSU's talent in the secondary, with the mighty Orgeron coaching up the defensive line, and with the world renowned Kevin Steele leading the way, LSU was still forced to play in the SEC West and not the NFC West. Without Chavis, the sky was the limit, and nothing could hold the swamp kittens back.
Now. John Chavis ended up in College Station. LSU fans, being the most rational in the country, were well suited to predict how Chavis's tenure coaching for Texas A&M.
- His scheme isn't aggressive, they said, so he definitely won't utilize Garrett and Hall. They are the SEC's sack leader and number 4 in the conference respectively.
- A&M definitely won't be able to get pressure because A&M's defensive line is much worse than LSU's, and Chavis's scheme isn't aggressive at all. A&M is 3rd in the conference in sacks, LSU 7th.
- On top of that, Chavis's scheme needs great defensive backs that only LSU has. Certainly A&M doesn't have the DBs. A&M's Donovan Wilson is leading the SEC in INTs and A&M's defense has more INTs than LSU.
- Finally, they said, "Chavis was bad on third down". It wasn't the vaunted LSU offense holding the swamp kittens back, how could it have been? It was Chavis on third down. Surely getting someone that isn't as poor as Chavis on 3rd down will do LSU wonders. A&M's defense is only letting teams convert .329 of the time on third down while LSU isn't even in the top 30 in the country at .346.
But what's confusing me, with how scary accurate all the swamp kittens were at predicting how John Chavis would fail in College Station, and how his perceived weaknesses would magically be fixed by his replacement in Baton Rouge... is how in the 6 common opponents between A&M and LSU... how A&M's defense has only given 135 points and LSU's defense has given up 156 points. Please tell me, swamp kittens. Your sage wisdom of what happens when you get rid of coaches has been so spot on, I need to have this one minor inconsistency explained to me. I keep telling everyone I know that y'all were so accurate with Chavis, your clamoring to replace Les Miles is also justified, but they keep bringing up the Chavis thing. Please help me out here, I'm sick of people not realizing how smart y'all are.

Who cares? Two second tier teams playing out the string.
If we win, so what? Been there, done that.
If we lose, so what? Been there, done that.

The methods rely on facts. Numbers confuse swamp kittens. I can see why a large sample size between identical teams would be a bad way to judge. I should add Eastern Michigan to the data for LSU. It'll be more accurate.
