I know Arkansas is struggling, but 13 points is crazy. They have a very talented team, and they will be in wounded animal mode.
You obviously have not seen our Defense attempt to cover the forward pass.

I think A&M will beat up on Arky. And it won't be close. If I was a betting person, I would take those points.
Spread/Air Raid teams beat bad teams to a pulp, see SCSU.

Bose, if Ark was 3-1 with a loss to Bama, I think the line would be Ags -3 or so anyway. Don't think -13 is out of line.

Everyone running from Ark #8 ranking now but 4 weeks ago they seemed to have the "Talent". Short memories around here...

Yes, their coaching sucks. It would be crazy to bet on any Ark game the rest of the season cause anything could happen.

It is called Battered Aggie Syndrome. Most A&M fans cannot even get behind the budding superstar we have in Manziel because he's just not a normal type of QB.

A&M fans expect to lose when it counts - and Arkansas is the prime example. OSU and Arkansas losses put the season into a tailspin last year after the team completely crapped out in the second half. That is the reason most A&M fans cannot even handle the Florida loss earlier this year.

As Manziel throws more and more in this offense, it is going to be really hard to stop. Teams won't be able to crowd the LOS. However, our running game has completely disappeared since the first half of the Florida game as well. Every week is an adventure with this offense. Never know what you are going to see.

I think A&M wins a shootout. Mainly because the Arkansas defense is so bad.

Final score will be something like:

A&M - 55
Arkansas - 38

Manziel+Arkansas Secondary+ Smiley McPoordick = 70-17. Calling it now, USCw mode. I'm throwing everything in my name on A&M at -13

I agree.

The defense is surprisingly good this year but I have seen some disturbingly open receivers the past couple of weeks. If smu or SCState had more accurate passers then I think the vulnerabililties would be more obvious.

This is where Arkie can cause some damage. Several guys in the secondary seem to get out of position time to time. Our front has played well though. Hope we can maintain pressure up front to help out the secondary.

You can't say that and then completely overlook the fact that those QBs hardly had any time to throw the football because they had 3-4 DLinemen bearing down on them.

Gilbert missed some wide open receivers with no pressure. He may have been hearing footsteps at that point but he was awful.

Most of the time receivers have been open is due to a couple things.

1) We are blitzing

2) They are throwing a hot route to counter the blitz

3) We are in man coverage, but not playing press man.

4) We are zone blitzing and giving the up the underneath so the defense doesn't go over the top.

Throughout a game, receivers are going to get open against any defense. Mark Snyder likes to pressure the QB to limit his time and ability to find or make the pass to an open receiver. People need to stop worrying so much. Through three games, we have yet to give up the "Big Play", and that is for a reason. Look at our performance against the Gators compared to what UT did. Our defense did an outstanding job.

Like Shane, I am not going to be talking shite either, but Im not going to be overly worried either.

We fired our last two coaches because these were the games they would shite the bed. All we need to do is play to our abilities. You can't come out slow and allow Arkansas to score and gain confidence throughout the game. Just play like the better team that we are and we win. I do think the Hogs will give us their best shot to start the game though.

Agreed. I dunno why people think this will be an easy win. Any time you have an offense as explosive as Arky you have a shot. Hell, even a bad offense can get things rolling. The terribad Colorado Buffaloes were able to come back from down 17 with 8 minutes left vs Wash St this weekend. If they can pull of a win, so can Arky. They were only a few bad plays away from turning around that Rutgers game. Nevermind that they pretty much have to win this game to have a shot at a bowl. We are going to get a really tough game from them. They are going to be fired up. This won't be a walk in the park.

#35 Ross Rasner was supposed to be the jack LB (he was backing up Jerico Nelson the past couple of years) but he got moved to safety during the off-season, I guess because we don't have anyone else that can start at safety. He's pretty good at jack LB but he's obviously way too slow to cover receivers, and that's why you see him getting picked on all the time.

It doesn't matter though, because our CBs who can cover receivers from time to time can't find the ball. frick it.

I definitely think A&M needs to come out ready to play but I don't know that Arkie is the wounded animal now. They hate their coach which is a huge problem. The second problem is I think Wilson already shot his load on the leadership thing after talking big with the Bama loss only to lose to Rutgers. I just don't know what Arkie can rally around at this point, they seem very down and filled with discord. A&M OTOH isn't going to overlook them. They remember losing last year and they want that first SEC win badly.

On the field I don't see how A&M doesn't score 40. The advantages of our offense against Arkie are just too numerous to name. Once Manziel gets in a rhythm he is downright scary and I don't know that Arkie has anything that can stop him. Their only hope is if we can't get pressure on Wilson and he lights up our DB's which is theoretically possible but very unlikely. The Arkie OL is bad and A&M has been killing opposing QB's. Demontre Moore is as fast and physical as any pass rusher in the SEC and he hits like a truck. The rest of the line is applying pressure as well.

I'm predicting 45-24. Still, A&M has to come to play and not turn the ball over or else the meltdown will be epic.

The 2nd touchdown we gave up last Saturday was a 39 yard pass. I'd call that a "big play".
