Saying that he is the best LSU QB since Matt Flynn (which many LSU posters have said) is not a very good title to hold, as LSU QB's have been abysmal over the past few years.
Do people think he is better than Mettenberger? Interesting.

I'm not either. But damn I like that 12 non-offensive TDs that Bama has scored through the first 8 games, and I LOVE that defense scoring 56 pts on their own.
No matter what that's a awesome stat. LSU can't let that happen, well it's not like any team "let" it happen. but you get my drift.
It's hard not to pick Alabama in this or any game, you guys have a great team. But I'm an LSU fan and I see how much better they are playing and I think they have what it takesv

Of course they don't. He just made that up.

38-21 is still asshurting you?

7. LSU's defensive line will not necessarily be outmatched vs. Alabama's defensive line, but Alabama has too many looks on offense for the LSU D-Line to generate constant pressure.
Bold strategy playing their d-line on offense, let's see if it works.

Wow that's a lot of thought and work to come to such bad conclusions and assessments. 1 out of 7 talking points were valid the rest seems like you dreamt it up.

He's nervous about what we're going to do to bama.
That's cute.

Why do people have this impression that Etling isn't good or doesn't have talent? He was a 4 star recruit with almost the exact same grade as Jameis Winston coming out of high school (Winston 84, Etling 83) and was rated much higher than bamas last 2 QBS (coaker 75, Hurts 80). He's started all but 1 game since he's been at LSU and he didn't travel with the team for that game cause of injury. Since miles was fired his numbers are very good better than Flynn and way better than Jalen Hurts.

Let them think he sucks.

I will be surprised if they score 3 touchdowns.
This could happen...if Alabama fumbles twice inside it's own five.

I have literally never heard one person say Etling is better than Mett...smh...if anything some may try spinning some schtick about him being the best "game manager" since Flynn, almost equally as dumb.

I too see Etling being the weaker of the two QBs. Your type of realism is totally out of character for an LSU fan. Game manager is code for, "Our defense will win the game if you don't lose it." That theory doesn't work this week.

Yeah I see one problem with your analysis bud. Ole miss can't run the ball like lsu can and definitely doesn't have the overall talent lsu posesses. It's not an even comparison. Lsu is the best team bama will play all yer defensively and poses a threat to run the ball with fournette, the best player in college ball, and break it long at any moment. Our defense is the best the bams offense will play all year as well. Combine this with playing when and where the game is going to be played and bama will have their hands full all night long. Lsu has a good chance to win this game and bama knows it. Will be a dogfight like always in death valley, geaux tigers.

Etling clearly doesn't have the arm talent of Mett. The comparison to Flynn comes with the way he spreads the ball around.
Danny is targeting 7-9 different receivers each game by checking down to tight ends and dump offs to running backs.
As of late, LSU hasn't had a QB routinely throw to the tight end since Richard Dickson was here. The LSU QB's have rarely thrown to anyone outside of the top two receivers for years now.
Perhaps the past 3 games were fools gold, but the LSU offense as a whole has actually been exciting again to watch.

This game will be closer than most think.

What concerns me is Bama's second surge; that's what finished A&M off, and they generally make 3 strong runs in a game. LSU has to be able to withstand both.
Something that might be a positive is the slow starts LSU has had; they're leaving little for the opposing coach to adjust for at half, and have come out strong in that second half. Vs Bama, the big concern will be to stay close during that stretch; but if we do, I can see us making a strong push at some point in the 2nd.
Line play will be critical. Bama has to contain Fournette, and still prevent Etling from making a big play to Chark and the other WRs. I think LSU can break through, if they can play even at the line.
