So I'm currently putting together my 2008 Alabama-LSU highlight reel and am in awe of the suckage that was Jarrett Lee. At one point in the game he was 4-18 for 63 yards and 2 INTs. Half of those yards came on one beautiful throw for your first TD of the game. But your running game is what made this a contest. Charles Scott and Keiland Williams were both very good running backs.

My question would be: how did you guys make it through that season with your sanity? Just awful, AWFUL quarterback play.

Short answer: we didn't

ETA: most of us tried to drink the qb issues away.

This is how bama fans spend Mother's Day.

You are a miserable group. I honestly pity you folks.

That year made Les gun shy on offense.

As bad QB play was, he was young and our defense was even worse. Holy frick that defense was terrible.

Ryan Perrilloux

What could've been. He was freaking legit before he got kicked off.

Not all of us live close to our mothers. Mine is about 4,000 miles away from me at present.

We were coming off a NC

The better question is how we've made it through the past 8 seasons with our QBs putting up similar numbers much of the time.

Oh it wasn't just Lee. The defense was absolutely horrible also. Lee's frequent pick sixes were almost impossible. It was a year like no other. Nobody was sane by the end. I carved out both eyeballs with a spoon by the end of the Georgia game. Being blind by the time we played you guys, I didn't mind as much.

Both Jefferson and Lee were freshman QBs that year, with Miles and completely inexperienced freshmen QBs it was a guaranteed down year.

He let our middle linebacker collect 2 pick 6s against him that year, one on the first play of the game

frick Ryan Perriloux. The only thing that kept that team out of NC contention was the atrocious QB play. JJ should've started the entire season. That's saying something when you know JJ would've been the better option.

The number of pick 6's Lee threw in 2008 was astounding. Auburn, two vs Florida, first play of the game vs Georgia, Tulane, Troy State,Alabama.Unbelievable.

It was tough, but coming off a national championship helped. And to be honest it was almost just as hard to stay sane during the 2007 season. Yeah we came on the winning side on most of those games, but many of them were too close for comfort. But damn were those close games fun.

I was there that day, opened up 4 WR and a RB flanker

Gee, wonder if we're gonna try a quick screen

Immediate INT

4 star true freshman thrown into the fire thanks to Ryan Quitalloux.
Up 14-7, Lee had LSU around midfield and could have crawled for a 3rd and short, but instead threw incomplete.
Shame we wasted that blocked FG in OT.
Lee did lead LSU to 8-0 start and #1 ranking in his Senior year in 2011.

That was easily the most frustrating loss that year

LSU wins that game with mere competency at the QB position.

That's the year I decided it was just a silly game and I have more important things to be depressed about.
