On December 5, 2011, Freeze was announced as the 37th head coach of Ole Miss Black Bears.

In his first season at Ole Miss, Freeze led the Rebels to a 6–6 record in the regular season, making Ole Miss bowl eligible for the first time since 2009 with a 41–24 victory over Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl.

Freeze received national attention on National Signing Day 2013 as Ole Miss brought in the fifth ranked recruiting class in the country.

"How'd he do it," people asked.

In 2013, Ole Miss continued to improve under Freeze, including a win over rival LSU in the Magnolia Bowl.

Freeze won the 2014 Grant Teaff Coach of the Year award by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

During Freeze's third season at Ole Miss, the team started 4-0, setting the stage for the most epic Ole Miss/Alabama game in history. College Game Day announced it would air from Oxford with special guest Katy Perry

Lee Corso didn't believe in the Rebels' chances that day...

But the "I Kissed the Girl" singer and voice of Smurfette in the 2011 film The Smurfs and its 2013 sequel knew better

In a hard-fought game, Freeze led the mighty black bears to a victory over Alabama.

And a 7-0 start, the program's best start since the Johnny Vaught era.

Unfortunately, they would end the season 2-4, including a 30-0 loss to Arkansas and a loss to LSU

That season netted them an appearance in the 2014 Peach Bowl, the program's first major-bowl appearance since the 1970 Sugar Bowl.

On September 19, 2015, Freeze's Rebels beat Alabama, 43-37, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Ole Miss fans were like

But 2015 wasn't all chandeliers and chicken tenders. The Rebels once again faced adversity.

Little did they know, even bigger trouble was looming. In January 2016, the NCAA charged Ole Miss with numerous recruiting violations. An investigation turned up evidence that Ole Miss employees and boosters arranged numerous "impermissible benefits" for players, such as car loans and cash.

Ole Miss fans didn't want to believe and looked the other way

The investigation reopened soon after star offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil admitted taking money from one of Freeze's assistants.

In July 2017, Freeze's predecessor, Houston Nutt, sued Ole Miss for defamation, contending that Freeze and school officials falsely blamed him for the violations. While reviewing records, Nutt's attorneys discovered a call to a number associated with a female escort service, and alerted Ole Miss officials about it.

You know how the rest of the story goes.

The End

You left out something.

ETA: I have to admit, that bottom gif is one of the saddest things I've ever seen on this board.

And yet funniest at the same time.
