I just decided that I am now pulling for 1. an absolute miracle that allows LSU to win the national championship or 2. UGA over Oregon/KSU in national championship game

A Meaningless SECCG?I wonder how deflated the teams will play if it turns out to be meaningless on the national stage

To have a chance to win the SEC should never be considered meaningless.

To me, the SECCG still is worth playing for and IMO a lot of folks (including me) will always have a bit of an asterisk next to this BCS champ if it doesn't involve the SEC Champ. Not that it isn't valid, because it's the system we have, but I'm not going to be able to help but question whether that team would have been able to beat the SEC champ. . . .

Or, in other words,

TO BE THE BEST. . . . YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE BEST. . . . WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Trust me, it's ALWAYS a home game for Bama in Atlanta. Their fans just completely take over. 94, 96, 99, 08, 09, didn't matter.

I expect it will be about 50/50.

Auburn, UGA, and Bama will probably always have a slight edge in fans in the SECCG due to proximity and in the case of AU and UGA especially, the largest alumni bases in Atl.

That said it is almost always close enough to 50/50 it is not a huge edge for either team.

Not what was being said in '04. The term "13-0...Nothing To Show" took on a life of it's own.

Yeah, it was 70/30 UGA last year in Atlanta. At least.

I'm predicting 55/45 UGA this year.

It wont be a home game atmosphere WG. We may not take over considering its UGA playing, but I can guarantee you it wont be better than 50/50 give or take 1%. If there is one thing Alabama does better than anyone, its do our damnedest to completely take over a venue. We may not succeed in doing that so close to your home, but we sure wont let yall over represent us. Will never happen.

Hell, even in the BCS CG last year where 30% of the tickets were corporate sponsors that were mostly LSU fans, we still cut into that percentage and made it WAY better than what it should have been. It wasnt 50/50 but we knew that woiuldnt happen.

The SEC CG doesnt do that though.

Am I the only one left that knows that Oregon, KState, and ND all have a loss in their near future?

First of all, it's at 4 EST but whatevs.

UGA will be playing in front of a home crowd wanting revenge for 2008 and their first SEC title since 05, which will tie them for 2nd most SEC titles of all time.

Bama will be playing to try to get their 2nd SEC title under Saban, and their 2nd in the last 13 years. The SECC is always a big deal.

A lot of pressure out there after the debacle last year. Gotta show up and play for 60 minutes this year, win or lose.

Well you could say last year's was meaningless as well if you only care about MNC's and not being SEC champs.

This thread is terrible. The SEC Title is the most coveted Title in Football. Period.

A home game for Bama isn't all that great. Some of their most humiliating defeats recently have come at Brian Dennehy and a few of their fans on the Bama only board started threads about how Dennehy wasn't very good this weekend.

Well having more Bama fans doesn't necessarily guarantee anything anyways, seeing that their last 3 losses were in front of their home crowd in BDS.
