Michigan state should have a single loss to Michigan. That Nebraska ending was bullshite.

They should be undefeated. What happened in the Ann Arbor game was a miracle play, but it was still a legit play. The Nebraska game was theft.

Oklahoma is a lock
Iowa/MSU is a lock
Clemson wins - lock
Alabama wins - lock
UNC wins - will be 4/5
Stanford wins - will be 4/5/6
UF wins - out
tOSU - out
fsu - out
nd - out

Basically - if UNC upsets it depends on Stanford , then the debate happens.

If somehow chaos happens, and both UNC, UF, & Stanford win, Stanford & UNC both get in. Gators no shot.

If UNC, UF, & USC win, UNC in , UF out, but I have no idea what happens then, Bama & tOSU fans will go crazy over the spot.

the committee has been trying to explain, no one is listening, that the conf champs are the 1st and foremost important thing. Period. A non champ would need to be clearly better not just eye test but in what they have done. Meaning ...

11-1 tOSU, non champ
11-2 Bama, non-champ
10-2 ND
etc...

is not getting ion over 12-1 UNC ACC CHAMP.

Any chance Ok gets left out based on what happens this weekend? Happened to TCU last year. If so, that would mean OM plays OK in Sugar. Exciting but scary

The four best teams is the most important thing. They've said this many times, it's in their "mission", in their criteria, and Jeff Long said it again last night.

Jeff long on conference championships, SOS, resume, judgment of the committee members, etc:

quote:

It's all of the above and it varies with the individuals in that room, so all of those things are factors.

On conference championships compensating for weak resumes:

quote:

It's really impossible for me to say because we haven't seen how those teams played, how they played in those games, so there's so many variables.

quote:

So they don't come in until the committee reaches basically a deadlock and then we add in the conference championships.

It's a possibility, but I don't think it's a very good one.

He also said last night that a non conference champion would have to be unequivocally better than a conference champion.

and 11-1 tOSU non champ is not unequivocally better in resume than a 12-1 UNC ACC champ , who just beat the consensus #1 team.

in other words tOSU ain't getting in!

Ohio State isn't the only team in contention if chaos happens.

The top 8 teams in the country should compete in a playoff for the national championship. AND you should be required to compete in a conference championship game to qualify for the playoff.

How would they do both?

Personally I think OSU has no chance if MSu wins out.

They played 2 "good" teams and went 1-1 (losing to the better team)

The OSu WR who posted Bama's Schedule needs to look in the mirror

Vtech 6-6
Hawaii 3-10
Northern Illinois 8-4
Western Michigan 7-5
Indiana 6-6
Maryland 3-9
Penn State 7-5
Rutgers 4-8
Minnesota 5-7
Illinois 5-7
Michigan State 11-1
Michigan 9-3

5 teams with winning records

Yeah, it's too bad they didn't lose to Indiana or Maryland, then win out.

Bama isn't the only team in the top four.

M has the far better win but that was more of a fluke and an indictment on Alabama.

what the hell are you talking about, we were winning the entire game

taking shots at Oklahoma then.

Interesting.

They did beat TCU, Baylor and Oklahoma State. Thats 2 10 win teams ad 9 win team. add Tennessee and that is 4 currently ranked teams

And win their conference.

I like seeing who has better achievements over who has better failures.

OSU's resume includes a win over Michigan and what else?

How can you not say that a 9-3 team isn't objectively better than a 5-7 team?

I'd bet that there are some 5-7 teams better than my 9-3 Dawgs.

I actually think OSU should replace Oklahoma. The loss to Texas is a terrible loss.

I'm not sure it's possible for UNC to get in, even with a win over Clemson. Stanford and Ohio State are set to replace Bama and Clemson long before UNC does. OU isn't playing, so they're in now, and the winner of the MSU/Iowa game is in. The playoff committee has absolutely no respect for any of UNC's metrics and have said/shown as much.

I didn't "take shots" at anyone. Anything else you'd like to be wrong about?

I'm sorry. I should of said-- you're conference must have a championship game for the teams in that conference to qualify.
