You are wrong my little piggy. Having been out of my state and been involved in corporate management and entrepreneurship there is a difference. Only once have I run into an AR grad that had any responsibility.

AAU membership is limited to the top 62 public and private research universities. This is something AR can only dream about.

Mizzou was admitted for two reasons, TV sets and academics. Both Mizzou and TAMU are AAU academic institutions and outside of Vanderbilt the academic reputation of the SEC is a joke. Florida is an AAU school but they are in decline. A degree from the rest of the SEC schools is viewed by everyone else as a Grade 13 diploma. Just an extension of high school.

According to the Chronicle of Higher Education rankings articles, Florida is not in decline and ranks higher than Missouri in just about every academic metric. BTW, Alabama ranks higher than Missouri in several and Georgia ranks higher is a few.

This is correct. FL, UGA, A&M and Vandy are all clearly better schools. There's a pileup of schools in the middle of the SEC where Mizzou is academically.

Columbia, Missouri is pretty Midwestern. It is what it is. Parts of Missouri are quite Southern, and people in those parts get offended by being labeled as Midwesterners.

As for the current game day atmosphere: our athletic program is at a historical low, and that is saying something. There have been dark years at Mizzou. Factor our awful on-field product with the circus of safe space, P.C. bullshite happening on campus, and this is the result. Mizzou will recover, but it's going to take awhile for the administration to repair the hit to the school's reputation.

In sum, I don't apologize for Mizzou being a primarily Midwestern school. That's probably never going to change, so the sooner you get over it, the better.

I am sorry that our presently pathetic athletic program is dragging the conference down this season, and that there is a media circus on campus. But that shite will pass. The landscape changes incredibly quickly in college sports, look at where our football program was just two seasons ago.

Just to clarify, it is not limited to 62, it is just they have been booting some or letting others know they would be dropped. Nebraska got booted and Syracuse dropped before they got booted. 2 other schools in the recent past have also chosen to drop out before they got booted.

Schools in the "lucky sperm club" that were added in the first decade of the AAU (like Nebraska) should be suspect so Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, and Iowa State are in the "questionable" range while schools like Georgia are sitting well in that 55-65 range to replace them. Since 1990 this is who the AAU has added and you will note, only 1 of them plays college football at a competitive level.

2012 Boston University
2010 Georgia Institute of Technology
2001 Stony Brook University
2001 Texas A&M University
1996 University of California, Davis
1996 University of California, Irvine
1995 Emory University
1995 University of California, Santa Barbara

If Nebraska was at 80 and got booted then these schools should be most suspect
88 Missouri
100 Indiana

Below 80 and suspect
77 Kansas
74 Iowa State

While the Hogs are far away from membership, they have the money to keep gaining so they are more dynamic than static. As for current SEC schools, the next in would be Georgia, followed by Kentucky. However, based on the large number of non sports schools lately, still plenty of schools ahead of these two so not like I would hold my breath.

There are many college rankings but AAU membership and research funding is the true measure of a university.

While the SEC does have a short bus school or two in the west, the schools in the east can hold their own in a Top 100 type ranking. Under current metrics Missouri is probably around a LSU or Tennessee cluster that might also include South Carolina. Kentucky has been raising their research game in the past decade and the campus has been expanding greatly if you ever drive though it. Georgia is already AAU level, but not officially AAU and well ahead of Missouri at this time.

No its one fans experience attending a Missouri game from a blog that covers Kentucky Sports in the most ridiculous manner possible. Its mostly comedy.

He had a story linked in that article that praised the Missouri petting zoo hours before the game.

Heres the Missouri Scouting Report they posted

Show Me My Opponent Missouri Tigers

I mostly enjoy the SHOW ME MY OPPONENT features for the Instagram scouting report. Well minus Vandy week.

Not when they're good, and even when they suck there are worse venues in the SEC to catch a game.

The blog is meant as light hearted comedy. They do a write up for every game, every team we play.

I'm sure Missouri will be back and we're grateful to have a little Midwestern flavor in the SEC.

It was lighthearted when it was just Beisner and his old blog. Jones is a bit of a goober so he hits the more typical KY stereotypes.
