Mark hired Nick, made him the highest paid college football coach at the time. Together they brought LSU's program up out of the ashes and built them into legit contenders that has been maintained for a decade. Mark wouldn't be where he is today without LSU & the Saban hire - Nick wouldn't be where he is today without the LSU AD hiring him to coach the Tigers.
