Eh, it was the color of the flowers that naturally grew on "The Hill" where the original buildings on campus were/are.

Think of it like stretching. Have to break 'em in before the victory party begins.

That list is pretty old and outdated on a few.

The more I read through it the more I think that it's just the facts the NCAA video game used to display as a loading screen years back.

With 3 minutes to go up 4 and Chavis as your DC, you'll be squeezing your nuts with both hands.

Yea, UM, of tOSU, may of had more opportunities, but I read on Wiki(yea I know), that for a long time, Big 10 teams weren't able to accept bowl bids, except for the Rose Bowl.

The B10 also had a ridiculous no repeat rule until 1975. So a team could win the B10 but wouldn't go to the Rose if they had played in it the previous year.
The B8 had the same thing for awhile too, that's why Oklahoma only played in 2 bowls during the 47 game win streak.

5) the first American Football team to play on Foreign soil was LSU, taking on Havana university in the Bacardi bowl and floored them 56-0.

They figured they had a chance by getting the players drunk before the game - they just didn't account for LSU drinking them under the table.

86. Ed Marinaro of Cornell holds the record for most rushing yards per game. From 1969 – 1971, Marinaro averaged 174.6 yards per game. He later became an actor, starring in such shows as Hill Street Blues and Laverne & Shirley.

This is the same actor who played the head coach on Blue Mountain State. He finished runner-up to Pat Sullivan for the Heisman. Mind=blown

University of Chicago running back Jay Berwanger was the first Heisman winner to be selected with the top pick in the NFL Draft (1936).

I guess being the first Heisman winner period wasn't a fun enough fact. A more fun fact is that he never played a down in the NFL.

Yep, pretty cool IMO. At least the our colors relate to the area and aren't some over used, cliche, shade of red, maroon or crimson.

Auburns very first QB was a transfer from North Carolina..... He had been dismissed from the Tarheel team for stealing a pencil box and pocket watch from a teammate.

Rumor is they paid his father $18.00 to get the kid to come to Auburn.

89. The longest field goal in college football was a 69-yarder by Ove Johansson of Abilene Christian in 1976.

At the NCAA level, the record is 67 yards, first set by Russell Erxleben for Texas against Rice. Two weeks later, Steve Little of Arkansas tied it against Texas. Erxleben is the 2nd highest kicker ever drafted in the NFL and Little is the 3rd. Erxleben is now in prison for investment fraud. Little was in a car accident that left him paralyzed and he died in 1999, at the young age of 43.

Since the huddle wasn't used by anyone outside of schools for the deaf until the latter part of the following decade, I'm going to have to disagree. The HUNH is responsible for every single one of those deaths and injuries.
