But you do lose games when adding games to the conference
Because you're losing inventory by less team having home games. You would probably in the long run be able to sell high ad revenue for Virginia Tech vs Auburn as opposed to Auburn vs double directional. You're also sucking in those east coast schools to have to get the SEC network to see their team play.

more conference games, means less games with other major conferences

conference runner up shouldn't be in a college football playoff.
There will be strong political pressure (U.S. Congress) to open the playoffs to non-BCS schools.
Bama with 11-1 with a OT loss to the SEC Champion ranked #1 could get in, but that situation will not come along very often.
Leaving the final choice up to a select committe really opens the playoffs to political pressure, and I guess that was the aim.

Naw. I think it means less games with other double directional schools.

I'm all for this as I think it will result in more quality games. Season tickets kind of suck when there are four OOC games and none of them (or only one of them) is against a high-end opponent.
With nine SEC games Auburn will play every team in our division, plus Georgia, plus two of the remaining six teams in the East. That leaves three games and I'd be up for one quality opponent and a cupcake season opener and a cupcake homecoming opponent.

Hopefully LSU gets that easy SEC schedule back from two seasons ago and prior, that way yall wont bitch any more.
Drop the unfair permanent cross-divisional opponents and all their bitching would stop. But then everyone knows that.
Bama's advantage worked against TAM last year, and it will work again as long as Tennessee remains a weak-sister.

Teams go up and down all the time. I guess Florida had the advantage in the 90's when LSU was hot garbage. It's all cyclical. LSU played weak teams prior to 12'. Didnt see them winning out like bama. point is, win your games, dont blame it on others, it's your responsibility and not someone elses fault

To be fair, LSU opened the season against A&M in the 90s, and they were so mentally devastated and traumatized by getting rolled over, their will to win the rest of the season was destroyed.

There is a lot of similarity with TAM and LSU football history. While TAM as played the Bridesmaid to UT and OK in their past, LSU has played the Bridesmaid to Ole Miss & Bama in the 60's, Bridesmaid to Bama in the 70's, and SEC Weak Sister in the 80's, & 90's.
LSU's coming out party started in 2001 against Tennessee, and they haven't looked back since.
TAM's coming out party began last season with victories over Bama and Oklahoma.
The sky is now the limit for both football programs.

So when the ACC, Big-12, Big-10 or non-BCS Champs play easier schedules, we shouldn't hear any whining from the SEC teams because, in your words, there shouldn't be any whining about who has the tougher schedule--win your games, don't blame it on others, it's your responsibility and not someone else’s fault.
Got It!

USC/Clemson - easy ACC win
Clemson has not beat SC in 4 years. How is that an easy acc win?

They've turned the corner. USC's lucky streak ends.

I don't want to open up the playoff format discussion but you HAVE to have some contigency for a year like 2011 where the regular season Bama/LSU loser was so strong they deserved to be in a 4 team playoff. Same with 2006 Michigan, 2008 Alabama, and 2009 Florida based on those teams resumes relative to everyone else that year.
I was never a big fan of an 8 team playoff but I am now. It works perfectly after the recent re-alignment and the death of the Big East. You take the 5 BCS conference winners with a stipulation that they must be ranked among the Top 15 and 3 at large teams that didn't win their conference. You could even make it 10 teams with 5 BCS conference winners and 5 at large bids with the #7, #8, #9, and #10 seeds playing each other in play in games for the 7th and 8th seeds.

Ohio State Fan
Granted 9 games in the B1G is no big deal because they have so many bad teams but 9 in the SEC means imbalance for ACC - SEC cross games and since ESPN owns both I am guessing they would not be to happy to kiss these games goodbye in creating value on other games.
Florida vs Florida State
Georgia vs Georgia Tech
South Carolina vs Clemson
Kentucky vs Louisville (Cards are moving to the ACC)
Plus all the ACC vs SEC games that regularly occur over time like Auburn vs Clemson and future regular match ups between these 2 conferences.
ACC is still a better tier conference while the B1G plays all the MAC type games in the non conference. PAC and B1G can go to 9 easier but it does not mean the overall games are better. Indiana playing Minnesota in conference for game #9 is not getting the same eyeballs as South Carolina vs Clemson for game #9.

Whatever man, let Meyer start scheduling top SEC teams OOC then you can laugh. beating the Hogs and then having to vacate for your only recent SEC win is nothing to brag about.

I don't get why other LSU fans bitch about permanent opponents, its very cyclical in nature. We do have every right to bitch about this bridge schedule though.

Add LSU. They want to drop Florida now. If Vandy gets better they don't want them.
Auburn wont be down forever. LSU knows their best chance is to dodge the good teams and pray for luck in the other games. When Ole Miss starts to win they may want out of the conf.

I don't see anyone stepping up asking for Florida on a permanent basis.
TAM stepped up last year, beat Bama, but Bama won the SEC West by taking care of business against Tennessee and Missouri from the East.
You have to be proud of the way your Crimson Tide rolled over their 2012 cupcake opponents from the SEC East.
