7 on 7 football

I think the SEC should adopt 7 on 7 football as a full varsity scholarship spring sport.

30 to 40 total scholarships - 10 per year.
13 week SPRING season.
Probably average 15,000 or more per game attendance.
Certainly worth several million per school in television media rights.
Additional program content for the up and coming SEC Network.

Off season thread - I Know - but sometimes a person just can't help themselves.

It will never be a separate scholarship sport because of Title IX. That said they could have 7 on 7 teams taken from the current teams and it would make for some great entertainment and competition.

In 2-3 more years, the NFL will be 7 on 7. Borderline unwatchable now.

Yeah, but the downside would be the worthless women's sports you would have to create to accommodate the 30 to 40 new women's scholarships you would have to add to meet Title IX requirements.
