I hate this statement. The Cowboys just took zeke at 4. If the moment presents itself and a team is desperate for a running back, they will take the back.

There are lots of franchise QBs in the NFL, but very, very few franchise RBs.

If you're the first pick, and you already have your QB of the future, and you need a RB, the obvious answer is to trade the pick. No matter how desperate you are for a RB, there are teams even more desperate for a QB.

Most of the time, when you look at the Top Ten RBs in the league, at least half of them were UDFAs or late round guys. The average RB lasts 3.5 years in the NFL. That's not a good use of a #1 overall pick.

If a team with a good young QB had the first pick and needed a RB, they would do like Tennessee did this year and trade the pick and possibly still get the RB. These are the things that make taking a RB #1 unlikely.

Someone will regret taking Watson in the first round so damn much.

I would agree with him that LF is potentially the greatest RB we have ever seen. Peyton was playing a different game, he wasn't up against anywhere near the caliber of athletes that guys are today.

I hope that Chubb comes back strong from injury, because that kid is on the same tier, two absolutely stellar athletes. Thank advancements in nutrition and training.

It's like comparing Jordan to Lebron, in a 1 to 1 comparison Lebron is just flat out superior. You can make the argument that Jordan was better in relation to the athlete of his time, but straight up Lebron is just on another level.

ow is he out of the backfield? I feel like he doesn't catch many passes. What about pass blocking? If he can get above average at those and be a true 3 down back he could go #1. But more likely someone who can win now will draft up for him, at least best case scenario.

I think he's guaranteed top 10, good chance top 5. He's good in every aspect of the game. He can do everything and I'm not kidding. He's molded to be a runningback in the NFL. I hope he goes to a good offensive team that can really showcase everything he can do.

I could easily see him going #1. I made the comparison a few posts earlier, but he really is like the Lebron of running backs. It's an odd quality to zero in on but I would honestly be shocked if he got injured, some guys just have that resilience and he seems to have it.

I would draft him and have 100% confidence that he is going to be healthy until he gets ready to hang up the cleats.

The issue is that whoever is bad enough to get the #1 pick probably doesn't need a RB to fix their issues. Not sure what the trade landscape looks like for next year, getting picked up by the Titans with their pick on the one they got from the Rams would be absolutely huge for both parties.

It's a damn shame that the Saints will probably have to take a R1 QB next year, that would have been great for fans I'm sure.

He didn't say potentially, he said "the greatest to ever play the game". That's just a ridiculous statement to make about a 20-21 year old kid that has never played a down in the NFL.

3. Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU

I think he'll be the highest rated player on the board, but won't go number one overall. The only chance of that happening is if a situation unfolds like the Cowboys this past year--a team that should be contending loses its starting QB for the year and falls to the bottom of the league.

Even then, it is hard to justify taking a running back over an elite pass rusher.

I'd hate for Watson to get stuck in Cleveland.

There is nothing at the RB position that he doesn't excel at.

I'd be extremely surprised if Lawson went #1. I think he has the talent for it but unfortunately those injuries will bite him.

Even if he's healthy and tears it up this year - the previous injuries will keep him out of the top half of the 1st round IMO.

The knock on him that I've read from every early mock is that he doesn't excel in the passing game- catching and blocking. Maybe that's unfair but the NFL is a passing league and that's why Elliott went as high as he did

Is it Fournette or the QB that doesn't excel in the passing game?
