What happened in 1973? Watergate? End of Vietnam War? Just curious why this date was chosen as the starting point normally right at the beginning of a winning streak for the team they are trying to make look better?

Yep. We we're so scared of those 0.500 world beaters that we moved to the SEC West where 3 teams had NCs within the last 5 years.

I simply wanted to see how far back I could go where the series was tied and couldn’t be tied again. Presto..1974. From 1940-1974, TU was 30-3-1 against Aggie. Maybe TU can break out the old T-formation again.
