I've got some bad news for you Bama fans. Virginia Tech is going to be a VERY tough game for you in 3 weeks. They return a top 10 defense including 9 starters on defense. They will also be returning basically their whole offensive line and starting Sr. QB. Not to mention the last time Bama played them, VT only lost 34-24 against your national championship team and the game had 7 lead changes with VT leading 17-16 into the 4th Quarter. Frank Beamer also gets payback and is the most experianced coach that Saban will go against this season.

Prepare your anus. This will be one of the toughest Defenses you face all year.

Vs Florida State

Will this be a similar beatdown like Michigan last year?

It was never NOT going to be a beatdown.

If Bama doesn't win by at least 21 points, I'm going to be extremely surprised.

Sometimes Saban is kind and let's OOC teams score to feel like they accomplished something. I think it's his way of saying thank you for agreeing to be his punching bag.

I'm thinking a 38-6/41-3 type of final score.

He'll give 'em a touchdown, I think. Don't want to demoralize 'em too bad the first game of the season. Want 'em to bounce back and validate that strength of schedule somewhat.

33-10.

Lol, Bama's fall will be hard this year. Kind of like 2010. The best part of it will be the fans let down.

your definition of good is different than mine. they play in the acc and lose big time to anyone else with a pulse. so they clean house with duke et al. they have not been a top caliber team on a national basis in about a decade.

VPI has never played well on the national stage, they've never won that big game against a national contender. Sure, they have a great overall record but it's built on second tier teams.

This is going to be an especially ugly game. The offensive line was awful last year and they could be even worse this year. To top it off, Logan Thomas is pretty questionable at QB. His throwing motion is all over the place. He spent last season throwing a steady mix of picks and incompletes.

It was going to be a beatdown regardless. VT might not score.

19th according to football outsiders.

Their offense was 68th in the country last year according to football outsiders. Which is fricking terrible. You know who else is terrible? Logan Thomas. VT may not score.

How is that relevant? Are those players still around?

Oh right, the payback factor. How could I have forgotten about this.

You mean the defense that gave up 48 to UNC?

Moron.

Not as much as you might suspect.

quote:

In 1892, two historic events occurred: women were first admitted to the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama, and football was first played as a school sport. Eventually, football replaced polo as the main sport on campus. In 1899, the school name was again changed, this time to Alabama Polytechnic Institute.

I've referred to Auburn as "Alabama Polytech" a time or two.
