Morningwheg was actually 4th string. They left the red shirt on the 3rd team guy.

david smith ... not sure if he was a 3rd stringer or not, but perkins had recruited some serious talent at qb, then left ... one of the qbs turned into a tight end, one went to duke, and the other stayed ... all big, tall decent hs qbs ... then there was david smith ... skinny, left handed, no threat to run ... came in under homer smith as oc and had a heckuva year ...
