LOL@ Towson, but the funniest part of that article was reading the blurb about Ohio beating Penn St in Happy Valley.

UMass is an FBS school. So while the game with Mich is weak on their part it's certainly better than Towson, Wofford or Western Carolina.

Certainly, with scheduling these kind of teams it would be real hard to convince the media a 1 loss team deserves a shot at the BCSNC

Don't really get Sam Houston being on the list. Sam got to the NC game for FCS last year and is starting this year at #1. SC State is fair though.

4) Auburn vs. Alabama A&M, Nov. 17: Auburn joins Alabama by placing a turkey on the schedule less than a week before Thanksgiving. Auburn's opponent, Alabama A&M, will probably not cry fowl after it gets a fat, juicy check for their part in the slaughter.

Kudos to AU for playing an in-state school regardless of the level of mismatch. Auburn is going to pay someone to come to town. Might as well be another state school, and I am sure that the A&M players will be thrilled to be playing on a large stage.

I heard Mike Golic, admitted Notre Dame homer, this morning just being "wowed" by Notre Dame facing 5 preseason top 20 teams. I couldn't help but shake my head because many SEC teams have to do this every year.

On top of that, I became even more amazed at LSU's 2011 schedule, and what LSU did to that schedule (pre-bowl game ).

I was kind of thinking that at least ours is in state, but yeah, it is a big mis match. However, most of the country doesn't give a shite that most SEC schools don't have any easy conference games so their OOC games need to be easier. One of ours happens to be number 14 preseason to start the year.

Alabama and Auburn schedules cupcakes the week before the Ironbowl. They use to take a bye week before, but the SEC office put a stop to it.

bullshite. The SEC has nothing to do with OOC scheduling. The SEC avoided scheduling a conference game before the Iron Bowl so Alabama and Auburn could have an open date if they wanted to. They both chose the next best thing, a cupcake.

This. Sam could beat a lot of low level 1-A schools and probably win some games in the Sun Belt this year.

No.
Although I wish LSU would go back to playing one in-state cupcake every year, rather than Towson, North Texas and Idaho. It keeps the money in Louisiana, helps the athletic programs at the smaller schools and helps recruiting by giving the kids at McNeese or Northwestern a chance to play in Tiger Stadium.

Really? They're transitioning this year, they were in 1AA last year, they will continue to perform at a 1AA level

Yeah they deserve a pass but not for Towson, you wanna play Sam Houston or Texas State (they've played McNeese and NSU the last 2 years) that's fine we might get some recruiting out of it.
