This is based on feedback from various "industry sources" within college football. Recent on field success was considered as well as other important factors like school prestige, resources, and recruiting success.

1. Georgia
2. Texas
3. Alabama
4. LSU
5. Ohio State
6. USC
7. Michigan
8. Florida
9. Notre Dame
10. Texas A&M
11. Oklahoma
12. Clemson
13. Tennessee
14. Florida State
15. Auburn
16. Penn State

I would assume it's the trend of both programs as well as some Texas bias.

Several people mentioned the ability of Texas to outbid most in the NIL world as a reason they like Texas.

I believe that's somewhat overblown and Texas belongs more in the 5-6 range.

This should be higher since you can make more than a million dollars per win to stay employed. What a gig.

Dumb to use that in a ranking of coaching jobs in an era with the transfer portal. You could lose half your roster instantly

I would definitely consider fan expectations in a ranking like this.

In that case, A&M may be the best job in the country because you technically have all the resources of a contender but you aren't getting fired after 2 or 3 bad seasons.

has to be. They have had some serious turnover the last 10 years. If it was such a great job, youd think it would be a job that recruited itself and the results would be there.

like the bama job is better. Its not from a perspective of following Saban, but still. it recruits itself and the cupboard is stocked. UTjr is not that way

Definitely possible.

It will be interesting to see how something like that affects Alabama when Saban eventually retires.

In the past there is no doubt that Notre Dame would have been top 2-3 without question.

Also, I know you guys hate them but Clemson is way too low.

Lot of cult like fan support, great facilities, weak schedule. That's a great gig.

Maybe in the 90's.

The arms race in CFB of the 2000's really left Notre Dame in the dust.

Add that to location, stricter academic requirements, and everyone being on TV now, and Notre Dame is really more like a 12-13 range job, and that's only because of the really strong brand.

I mean look at their search for the replacement of BK, they ended up hiring a first time head coach who was a coordinator at Cincinnati just two years prior.

Auburn, Florida, and South Carolina will pay you to not work for them.

UGA is doing the lords work taking in these lost causes.

All depends on your goals. If you want to get paid the most money without pressure of having success, A&M is clearly the top job.

If you want to win a national title, have great resources and get paid, Alabama, LSU and Georgia are top spots.

Of all SEC teams, only Alabama and Georgia have won more games than A&M since we joined the league. Those are also the only three SEC teams in that timeframe with multiple top 5 finishes in the final AP poll.

If we are ranking it by unreasonably loyal and patient fanbases, Penn State needs to vault up the ranks.
