Oklahoma has made the playoffs once.

One of those BCS appearances they didn't even win their own conference.

B/R showing why it is disregarded as "fake news" with it's inclusion of A&M in the top 25. They wont even make the traditional 8/5 lol

Clemson averaging 7th. Seems a little high, losing the programs all time best qb, pretty much every significant offensive skill player. Defense will be good again, but how do you replace all that when your offense is based on out executing and winning the 50/50s?

Everyone but CBS Sports (18) and SN (19) have lost their minds when it comes to Auburn. Until they prove it AU is not a top 15 team as of now. The potential is there, but no way they deserve to be ranked that high (10-14) even in pre-season.

still have Deon Cain, Renfrow, Ray Ray McCloud, and other good WRs. Our two RBs Fuller and Feaster should be able to at least match Gallman, and Feaster supposedly has more speed and has been comp ared to CJ SPiller.

it is possible CLemson starts a running QB next year, Kelly Bryant. another QB who many thinks will start, Zerrick Cooper, looks a lot like Watson throwing the ball and he can run some too.

What does winning conference have to do with anything? OSU made playoff this year without it, no one really seemed to care. Hasn't Alabama won the title in a year it didn't win its conference? Why do you fail to apply your rationale to all programs?

I think conference championships are very important, but to this point in the history of the sport they aren't the only factor. College football is sometimes about perception. The 2003 Sooners were so explosive that the conference champ game loss that season didn't matter. At least we made our CCG that season. Something that can't be said for OSU this year or Alabama in 2011. OU was way out in front that whole season as per BCS ranking. That team was a juggernaut. They were so far ahead in the rankings that some talking heads said they could lose the CCG and still get into BCS.

Anyhow I fail to see your point labotomy.

Congrats to the Clemson fan.

Not sure I get your 'blue blood" argument. It's not hype it's history and tradition which are important to the sport.

Agreed, although they have damn good QB. IMO, the following teams are overrated: Michigan, Clemson, Penn State and to a certain extent UGA.

I think Auburn is a top 10 team and will surprise a lot of people

And got their asses stomped by lsu in that title appearance as well. They have hated lsu ever since. Now that we are stealing their best most prized recruit this yer jacob phillips, they will hate us even more. Until we meet them again and whip their asses again and the cycleanest will start all over again.

Each time a school made the playoffs/title game without winning it's conference and the team that won the conference didn't that team lost.

Nebraska 2001 (Colorado)
Oklahoma 2003 (Kansas State)
Ohio State 2016 (Penn State)

You could even expand it to include schools that lost to a team more deserving of a title appearance.

Florida State 2000 (Miami)
Oklahoma 2008 (Texas)

Alabama in 2011 didn't make it in favor of LSU, they faced LSU in a rematch.

Clemson's defense could keep them in the ACC hunt until the new QB and RB establish themselves.

this is how you passive aggressive people do it, accuse people of being defensive if they say something you don't agree w ith.

ask your average football fan to detail Oklahoma's history and tradition and i think they probably going to struggle with an answer.
