Alabama may be favored in Monday night’s national championship game between Alabama and Clemson, but ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit doesn’t expect the Tide to roll quite the same way they have in past title games. During a teleconference this afternoon, Herbstreit said that Clemson will be the toughest team that Alabama has faced in a championship under Saban.
I say yes. This Clemson offense will be able to cross the 50.
Ranking our NC opponents:
4. ND
3. Texas
2. LSU
1. Clemson

If LSU had Dabo, we might've not been blown out in the NC.
Then again, he coaches a team in one of the weakest conferences. So who knows.

Maybe, just because of how bad that offense was.

If bama can get to watson (and we have been able to get to everybody with just rushing 4), they are going to get run out of the building. Also, watson is garbage making passing decisions whole running, is an int machine. Clemson lives and dies by watson. Bama is more multifaceted.

But will they be able to hold you to 1 TD (in 2 games no less.) ????
LSU outscored a schedule with 9 bowl teams and 3 Top 5 teams to the tune of 500-123. It is one of the Top 2 or 3 REGULAR seasons in CFB history.
There would be a case for Clemson to come close to that IF they destroy Alabama Monday night and go 15-0 (which won't happen :) EDIT: Clemson MAY win, but they won't destroy them....

Didn't LSU beat Bama that year?? So I would say yes, they're better than Clemson this year

Which Alabama defense is better 2011 or 2015?

More balanced than 2011 LSU, but I wouldn't say better.

2011 LSU is the best non-champion since the Miami team that lost to Ohio State.

Offense, yes. Defense, hell no

The acc is not a strong conf.
How do you think Bama would fair in the ACC?
Clemson very well may be good, but it's hard to know since most of their schedule amounts to a bunch of practice games...

didn't 2011 LSU beat 2011 alabama?

nope, Remember bama only scored 1 touchdown in about 9 quarters of football. Now their quarterback is much much better than what we had. Even if Clemson would win which I doubt, I still would not put them with the 2011 tigers. jmho

I would agree.
Notre Dame was a joke.
Texas was decent until Colt McCoy went down
LSU's offense in 2011 was very bad.
Since 2011, here are all of Alabama's losses ranked by Total Offense Ranking:
#3 Texas A&M (2012)
#9 Ohio State (2014)
#10 Ole Miss (2015)
#11 Auburn (2013)
#52 Oklahoma (2013)
#54 Ole Miss (2014)
#86 LSU (2011)
It was a miracle that LSU beat Alabama the first time around in 2011. To ask the team to do it a 2nd time was unrealistic. Honestly its a testament to how good their defense was that year that they were able to beat them in Tuscaloosa.
To beat Bama, you need a good defense and a very strong offense. With a #11 Total Offense ranking, Clemson will have by far the best offense of any team Bama has faced in a title game during the Saban era.

Bama's playing in the national championship in a few days and you're melting about LSU

I think they make a good argument, but their offense was very flawed.
I think 2009 Florida, 2005 USC, and even 2004 Auburn are comparable to 2011 LSU. Not saying they are better, but there is certainly a discussion to be made.

And that was a gift TD when LSU's defense had nothing left late in the game.

Some of you fools don't know what the hell y'all are talking about and need to do a little research. Here let me help some of you out here that have a low football IQ. Points LSU scored against. Gee some dumb asses out there. It is funny how that the only thing remembered is us playing Alabama in the NCG. If LSU and Bama played 10 times that year more than likely they would have won 5 each.
#3 Oregon - 40
Northwestern State - 49
#25 Miss State - 19
#16 West Virginia - 47
Kentucky - 35
#17 Florida - 41
Tennessee - 38
#19 Auburn - 45
#2 Alabama - 9
Western Kentucky - 42
Ole Miss - 52
#3 Arkansas - 41
#12 Georgia - 42
#2 Alabama - We all know the story here
