Whatever. If you read my post history, I'm a huge dak fan, and was happy for the success both him and Mullen have had.

But if you don't believe me, just watch the game. When beckwith is in the game, running games shut down.

Agree with this, however also agree with OP that Welter starting those first few games over Beckwith is one of the more puzzling decisions I've seen. Don't think it would have made much of a difference vs Moo St though.

3rd and 9 MSU on their own 1 yd line.

Chavis defense lets Dak run up the middle for first down.

Ags you'll be ok on defense sometimes, but you will have plenty of shite like this as well.

MSU drove along way and kicked fg.

When they should have punted out of their own endzone in the first place.

A holding call is the only reason State didn't get 7 instead of 3 after driving 99 yds.

QB Draw all damn night and Chavis couldn't do a damn thing to stop it

Not only did the MLB get beat down in this game but multiple times the defensive scheme got busted by the motion man and the middle of the field was left wide open with no MLB in position and no safety up the middle. MSU was not the only one to exploit this but they recognized it and capitalized on it well. This was why running QBs killed us last year.

Do you think the no safety in the middle was scheme or mess up by the player?

It is reassuring that so many LSU posters are concerned about the well being of the Texas Aggies defense.

Thank you for your interest!

It is scheme. If you want to see it at its all time worst, watch the game against Auburn in 2010. It's a product of the Mustang package. When Chavis goes to that look, he'll have two LB's split, both lining up directly on the outside shoulder of each guard. He also likes to bring his "rover" player off either of the edges. It leaves the middle of the field totally exposed. The reason Mississippi St & Auburn had so much success with it, is due to the pass formation look.

Malzahn gave Mullen a blueprint to attack that particular package. They sell the threat of the pass with the formation & down & distance but they actually run a version of a power draw either with the quarterback or handing the ball off late to a back.

There will be no let up in Starkville this year. What will your excuse be then?

Strange that played worked against Auburn; an easy read for Dak.

Another LSU fan with a Chavis thread. It's getting out of hand.

2d play I saw Beckwith in, he missed the tackle & Robinson ran for 66 (sixty-six) Yards.

Next 3 plays with Beckwith in, held to FG; he had but little impact though.

With that same defensive performance and A&Ms offense, A&M wins.

That same Miss St team put up 48 on us last year. LSU's first touchdown in that game was a fumble return at the start of the 2nd half. Jennings had an 8.6 QB rating. If it wasn't for trash time, LSU wouldn't have passed 250 yards.

But nah, Chavis' fault
