Malzahn, Beliema, Stoops, and Jones... are any of these guys long term solutions for their programs?

You would think by year 3, the uncertainty would be gone... but all four of some serious questions to answer moving forward.

Malzahn took y'all to a national championship one year after going 0-8 in the SEC. A scare against an inferior team doesn't mean he's terrible. Y'all will be fine

Stoops has Kentucky playing well, for Kentucky. I'd say he's doing pretty well.

Stoops has recruited better than any modern UK coach before him and has some potential this season to do better than any UK coach has in almost a decade.

I don't see where the serious questions are with him right now. Other than can Kentucky keep him.

I don't know what serious questions Stoops has but the main concern for UK is keeping him if he has a lot of success.

Malzahn took a more talented team and went 8-5 last year, and now we are struggling to beat FCS teams. Not saying he should be gone, but the jury is definitely still out.

I would say Malzahn and Stoops definitely are. Stoops has done a great job when you consider where they were. They should make a bowl game this year and could go 8-4

Two things on stoops... FSUs defense got better AFTER stoops left... and he's a below .500 coach.

I'm not saying he can't be the answer, but his resume to date doesn't give more warm and fusses

That is pretty much the norm. In any given year, there's going to be one or two coaching hires that work out while the rest wash out. 2005 was a rare exception when there was a bunch of great hires with Miles, Meyer, Spurrier, Mendenhall, Gundy and Whittingham. You aren't going to get many years like that which is why I believe college football programs should be much more patient with their head coaches going forward.

We will learn a lot about Auburn and Gus Malzahn soon.

Will the team go to LSU this next weekend and get murdered like the teams of the Gene Chizik regime, or will they go out and fight like they have so far in Gus Malzahn's regime? Will they continue to do so or lay down? How will we play against SEC teams after a slow start?

Lots of questions.

He's a below .500 coach because he inherited an absolute shitshow that Joker created with MAYBE a handful of SEC caliber players. That's a ridiculously skewed statistic.

And I can already say our defense has improved since he's come to UK. I could give a shite what happened at Florida State.

I don't see how this is an indictment on him. He recruited and coached a lot of those players that helped them get better. Plus he's being judged on his job as coach of Kentucky, not as DC at FSU

They were terrible in the years before he got hired and they have gotten noticeably better. If you don't see that then you aren't watching them play
