just had its 8th member make it to the show last night in Brandon Woodruff SP for the Brewers. It ties an SEC record for most players in MLB off one team. I am not boasting MSU baseball over LSU or Vandy or Florida I am just simply sharing this great accomplishment made by an SEC school last night.

Saw where Wiody got the W in his first start for the brewers

definitely impressive. If you want a point of reference, LSU led the country this year in how many players have seen time in the majors with just 11. 8 from one year is very impressive
ETA: We do have several guys in AAA who have spent time in the majors as well: Matt Clark (playing in Mexico), Louis Coleman (spent several years with KC), Nick Rumbelow (has a 0.00 ERA right now in 15 IP), and Anthony Ranaudo (playing in Korea)

6.1 IP, 7 H, 0 ER, 6 K's. MLB Network said it was the Brewers best MLB debut by a SP since 2004.

A&M has 5 in the bigs from the 2012 team and I thought that was impressive. 8 is really great.

I think I saw where this might be incorrect. Didn't UF have 10 players once?
Anyway it was great. I couldn't watch it but kept up online. His fam and mine have always been close. He was just a baby when I moved away so never knew him personally. Just great to see someone from a community of maybe 200 people make it to the MLB.
When he was drafted in high school the agent called and said they wanted to fly in the next day to meet with him. Brandon told them they would have to wait till Monday because he had a fishing trip planned.
His brother was also a great ball player and was a baseball manager when he was at State. His brother was killed in an ATV accident just over a year ago.

Not really a CBB fan but that's still a great accomplishment both individually and for that team. Congrats to all.

He pitched real well. Got quite a few breaks, bases loaded in first and second, but he made the pitches to get out of jams. I wish him the best of luck.

I pitched against him in high school and got the game win. One of my career highlights in sports haha

Why would you?

And people say the reason they don't like college baseball is because of the minor leagues. There's some AA teams that don't have 8 future big leaguers. The top of the SEC is better than lower minor league levels IMO.

It's really not. And that's not an opinion, it's just a fact. Not when they leave college, at least.

Then the general manager should be fired

And they still didnt win shite...I'm so glad LSU punked state this year in baseball, like they will in football again. The conference needs a loser, somebody had to fill that role, thanks miss stste for assuming that role in the SEC lol.

Not sure, the stat was posted on MSU's instagram page today but didn't say who it ties. I am guessing late 90's early 2000's LSU is the other team.
