Bama fans, I think McElwain was your offensive coordinator for that game. Did the UT UF game yesterday resemble the Camback in anyway and who took the blame for the loss? Or did Auburn get all the credit?

No idea what you're talking about. I don't remember any Iron Bowl that season. It must've been cancelled

I feel the same way about last Saturday

Damn, didn't think about it but it kind of did. We ran into a string of bad luck though. Ingram's fumble out of the end zone, Trent dropping a pass on the 2 yard line or so, Line getting blown up on the goal line causing a fumble Auburn recovered, Barron getting hurt. There were lots of weird things that happened and we didn't put it away as we should have

Sorta like the 2012 season, the year without football.

So you are saying that game was more along the lines of some unlucky breaks and not going into a conservative shell because you thought you had the game won.

Well it didn't until you made it. Thanks a lot.

Honestly, we just got Cam'd in the second half but injuries on a thin D hurt us a lot to. Plus McElroy was scared McElroy throw the ball deep and get picked off for most of his career.

still making excuses 6 years later...

First half some lucky breaks went Bama's way, second they didnt.
Auburn was a very good second half D in 2010 as well. One thing they could do well was adjust and stop the run

Didn't y'all also have a couple of D line starters suspended for the first half of the Iron Bowl after a fight at UGA the week before?
As to the OP's question, I don't blame Mac. The game was there for the taking in the first half, but as others have said strange things like Ingram's fumble rolling a mile down the sidelines happened and the rest is history.

Yep. SEC did all it could to derail us that year. Guys got suspended for coming to the aid of Fairley while he was get sucker punched by POS thuga Olinemen.

That's an interesting remembrance of it.

yea, two guys could not play till the second half. Auburn had some very unusual things happen in the first half but turned it around in the second. Defense shut Bama down in the second half and put pressure on the QB.
It was like Christmas for Bama in the fish quarter. Everything worked. Eventually, that had to run out

it wasnt really a sucker punch as it was a dive on Fairly(who was already on the ground) with his palm right to his helmet.

It was a factor as to why Alabama lost that game that can't really be ignored when answering the question at hand. Regardless of playcalling you can't really account for a once a decade type of fumble bounce or a dude dropping a wide open pass.

The one complaint on McElwain is the fact he often went insanely conservative with a big lead.

Damn that's what I was afraid of.

I mean there's one thing they could have done that they never did.
