Les Miles has just as much time in the day and resources at hand to sign the quality players that Bama does.

Here's a good article...

quote:

The most “economical” football team in the SEC for 2011, with football expenses of $21,492,741 (Seventh in the SEC), is Louisiana State University. Yup, one of the top teams in the country in the top college football conference in America is in the bottom half of the SEC in terms of football expenses. With their 8-0 record in the SEC, they paid approximately $2,686,592.63 per win. That’s $461,455.66 less than the second place University of Georgia (7-1) who paid $3,148,048.29 per win out of their operating expenses of $22,036,338.00.

How about the BCS National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide? They check in at almost two million dollars more per win than their championship game foe, LSU. The cash register for the University of Alabama (7-1) rings a total of $31,580,059.00 spent on football in 2010-2011, which would equate to $4,511,437.00 per win in 2011.

Saban and sumlin went into LSU's backyard and stole the #1 class from them by signing Cam Robinson and speedy noil.

The difference being that Louisiana and Texas area of the country has tons of talent to more than sustain LSU, particularly when the Texas schools were down. Alabama has to battle Auburn for all of the quality in-state recruits, and frankly there aren't as many to split between two schools as there are for LSU to have on its own. Therefore Alabama has to take a more national approach to recruiting.

Think about it this way. If LSU would have locked down Cam Robinson and Tony Brown, both from LSU's backyard, LSU would have had the number one class. Instead, Les got outworked by Saban. This had little to do with money and everything to do with work.

Good addition to my argument.

Cam Rob, Speedy, Tony Brown all go to LSU then LSU has the number one class. They didn't, so Bama stayed number one.

Imagine what deep shite Bama would be in this year for a left tackle if LSU would have done their job and kept the fence up. Then imagine if LSU would've kept the fence up a couple years ago when Landon Collins decided to head to Ttown.

Louisiana whores out their recruits to other teams worse than the fricking Albanians do with the European girls from the movie Taken.
