The defense hasn't been that bad, honestly. kansas has hit some contested shots and they've done pretty well defending and rebounding in the paint.

They can't keep our guards out of the lane. Just need to keep driving it there until they pack it in, then feed it to Murray on the perimeter.

Yeah just dig yourself a six point hole at halftime without your best player on the court because he MIGHT foul out of the game.

That makes sense.

Many great coaches do that. (seriously they do) They're doing what everyone else is doing because they're afraid of looking stupid. You'd rather have the player play as many minutes as possible.

It's strange watching a UK team that actually has a relatively normal balance of experience v. youth in their production. I would have bet money that Marcus Lee would have either been in the NBA or an elite college player by now when I saw him in the NCAA tourney 2 years ago.

Unless your LSU and then it doesn't matter because he won't touch the ball anyways

I don't think Meat is an LSU fan.

Not a fan of Poythress taking that three but glad to see Lee finish strong at the basket. Our bigs are getting a little better.

I agree but the fallacy is that you have to make that decision. Limit their playing time to 20 minutes or so and have them at the end of the game or play them the first 25-30 minutes of the game and force them to have to watch the last 10 minutes of the game. That would be a tough call. I could see sacrificing a few minutes of the player's playing time in that situation to make sure they are in the game the last 5 minutes. The problem is it's far from a certainty the player will foul out early because they get 2 early fouls. And it's probably even less of a certainty that the player won't enter the game at the beginning of the second half, immediately have three fouls and you find yourself in the exact same situation you were already in . I just think changing your game plan around one player having 2 early fouls is a bad decision. it's not THAT big of a deal IMO. If they foul out they foul out. They played 14 minutes in the first half without him. KU's already faced a self-imposed penalty for Ellis fouling out and he still only has two fouls.

I get the logic both ways. I just don't feel as strongly about it

I would hate it more to have to pull him out of the second half because he has four fouls early on. You can always overcome first half deficit.

I would rather have to not worry about it all in the second half. That's why I think coaches do it

The officiating has gotten terribly one sided in the 2nd half.

That call that fouled out your white guy was complete shite. Then two of your players get mugged and no call.
