My guesses:
1. Youngster hitting third. There for protection.
2. Ton of people on base. He's a contact hitter.
3. Lineup is stacked. Gotta put him somewhere.

Bregman has a 19 game hitting streak, Laird is wicked fast, and Katz hits 5th. McMullen has been solid at the lead off. Better question is why Stevenson is in CF.
