Here's the thing - some teams would love to get teased about how long ago they won a championship. USC-e, Vandy, Kentucky, Mizzou, MSU, etc. If they had ever won one (in the modern era - like before WW II).
The difference is:
Those schools aren't Big Six schools. They aren't pulling in top 10 recruiting classes.
And most importantly: they aren't as easily rustled as UGA fans.

Eh...that's kinda sad.

Maybe we could get 19 up and 80 down and then lock it.

Actually you don't get it. This is one of those things that gets better with time. Each year it's a more effective insult than the next.
It ages like a fine wine.
The fact is UGA has had the talent over the years that they should have more than one MNC's since 1980. I can't think of another program that's had the talent to win it all more than UGA and hasn't since.....well 1980.

UGA, here is the deal, you can argue over bogus NC, but this seems like the legit list. UGA has one championship and that is 1980 when the championship was poll based and many were more mythical NC. LINK
Since the BCS/Playoff era (Since 1998, 21 years), the following championships have been won by the big 6...
Bama 5
LSU 2
Florida 2
Auburn 1
Tennessee 1
UGA 0

The crazy thing about UGA is that it’s not like they’ve gotten screwed out of titles or title chances (Auburn 83, 04) or had weird circumstances derail them (LSU getting the rematch in 11)
They just tragically, heartbreakingly choke when it’s all on the line. The consistency is nice though.

Would you prefer that we remind you of how many years it has been?

The only silver lining in all of this is that if UGA manages to win a NC before Tennessee, 1998 becomes the new 1980.
You just know Bama secretly desires this.

It could be worse. Try 1939.
Or even worse, you could be an LSU mouth breather.

When you do this, you only renew it.

You know, you're right. Maybe we should stop.
One thing that this post got me thinking about was this.
It was nine years ago today that Auburn went to Tuscaloosa and beat Bama. All Auburn fans had heard for years was that it had been 50+ years since we won a natty.
Just think about it, in two thousand eight, Bama beat Auburn for the first time in Tuscaloosa, and in doing so forced Auburn to fire Tuberville and bring in Chizik.
But that day, after the Camback, Auburn looked toward Atlanta with zero losses on the season and ended up winning the natty.
