The Matt Jones era uniforms were terrible. They looked extremely cheap. These current uniforms are better.
The only recent uniforms that could be argued as better than this set is obviously the DMac uniforms.

1964 marked the first year a mascot was placed on the side of a helmet in college football, again Arkansas was the trend setter.

I think you are trying to reference the Ford era jerseys with the hog on the shoulder.
Our tight end coach wore one when he played.
The Hatfield era jerseys were identical to those going back to 64 out side of a face mask color change, different hog logo, and tear away jerseys being worn.
Arkansas wore the above uni from 1958-1994.
