Dude, you're a Tennessee fan. When this subject is under discussion your best bet might be to sit quietly in the corner and hope no one notices you.

STFU!

We don't suffer from Little Dick Syndrome and feel the need to claim a half dozen bullshite championships, unlike you Bammers.

Alabama doesn't have to justify 1973. Yes it looks odd because they lost the AP title game but they came in the game as UPI champs and undefeated. That's how the system was then. It's an etched-in-stone title.

They were co-champions who got beat a week later by the other co-champion.

More like etched in sand at the edge of the shore.

You should look at some of your own claims.

Then I guess you'll stop claiming 1940, 1951, and 1967.

You should educate yourself about your own title claims before making fun of anyone else's.

They meet in the Sugar Bowl to decide who is the best. ND wins.

All because of a missed extra point.

Realistically that game should have ended in a 24-24 tie. Both teams played equally well and while ND won, those who watched the game would tell you it was an evenly matched contest. I watched the full game on YouTube not long ago and that is easily one of the greatest football games I have ever watched.

Why in the heck did we not decide to claim the title in 1945?

I was very interested in Alabama football history and spent a lot of my off time when I was at school down there searching the Bryant Museum archives. It is a treasure trove of information any fan of history would enjoy.

One day I was researching the '45 Bama team and you wouldn't believe the pressure the media was putting on Army to play Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. Army elected to not go bowling that year, however, and as a result Alabama declined a Sugar Bowl invitation and went to the Rose Bowl that year instead.

How old are all of you that you have such strong opinions about a football season 74 years ago?
