Rider, Niagara, Siena.

Three pretty darn good teams all in the MAAC. This might be your top mid-major conference this season. Should be quite the battle. Two teams could somehow sneak in provided they don't beat up on each other too badly in league play.

I'm pretty impressed with your knowledge of the MAAC.

Iona fans were pretty happy with what former Louisville assistant, Kevin Willard, has done for the Iona program. He's in his 3rd year and inherited a program from Jeff Ruland that played LSU in the NCAA in 2006 and then went 2-28 the following season. Iona's hopes are tempered by the knowledge that all teams in the MAAC have upgraded. Hell, even St. Peter's gave Seton Hall all they wanted tonight. Seton Hall needed a bucket at the buzzer to beat St. Peter's at home by 2.

Rider put up a solid effort against Miss. St. Niagara blew a lead at Auburn and lost by 4.

My guess is that Siena will repeat and go to the dance. Rider or Niagara could also sneak in, but will probably go NIT. The rest of the conference will be bunched up. But over the last decade or so, strange things can happen in the MAAC.

It's a bunch of small Catholic (except for Rider) schools. Most have an undergraduate student body of less than 5,000.

It's hard for these schools to compete for players with the Big East, but some good players have come out of the MAAC, the most recent being Jason Thompson from Rider.

I love watching college basketball.

This is par for Stansbury. I really don't think he cares until SEC play starts.

We can laugh now but Stansbury will have MS St ready for SEC play.

Don't read too much into this loss.
