Agreed about Alabama. JRM and Kirkland would've been able to slow Hurts down some imo but when Bama brings their A game like that, no one in the country can beat them imo.

The way the Alabama offensive line is playing lately, I'm starting to think this very well might be the best team Saban has had.

With that said, they'll probably lose this weekend or something and totally make me look moronic.

I still don't think Alabama is a good matchup for them considering Dobbs deficiencies and an average offensive line, but you never know.

The current iteration of Bama is a terrible matchup for VOLS, even before injury. There's no running on Bama, and Dobbs is nowhere near the passer that Allen and Kelly are. Your offense is just flat out annoying to play against. 4 deep at RB, very good run blocking line, fast QB, and great blockers at WR. Don't even need to be a threat throwing the ball to beat most teams.

And, like I mentioned in another thread, Allen and Kelly produced yards and points.....but they also gave back points (14 each). So, it's a double edged sword.

Somebody will find a way to keep our run game in a box and make Hurts win 1-on-1 matchups down the field, and then we'll see how it goes. However, the way our line is playing, that is going to require bringing a safety into the box meaning Ridley/Howard/Stewart will all be running around 1 on 1. That's pretty tough, even if Hurts isn't right on the money.

ennessee was trying to handle Reuben Foster and Tim Williams with bookend freshmen tackles last week after Chance Hall left the game with an injury lol

I saw there we some mismatches. Is #76... maybe Ball or Bell... he got owned over and over. Assume this is one of the freshman? His guy was in the backfield on damn near every play.

Are you asking us to give Tennessee a pass? Because that's not gonna happen.

The only teams I see having the front 7's capable of doing so are LSU and maybe Auburn (probably reaching a bit with them), and even then I think you'll find success against both on the ground. Near impossible to contain a read option behind a great O line and capable blockers at WR.

We had to burn the redshirt on 265 lb. RT Marcus Tatum in the first quarter, who had the pleasure of trying to go up against Tim Williams for the rest of the game.

Yea, it's nice to be the one doing that to others for a change.

Hall is actually pretty solid at RT but was dealing with a leg injury and gave it a go iirc. Williams was whipping his arse so badly every snap so they finally pulled Hall and trotted out a true freshman that weighs maybe 280

Yea, that wasn't very fair. But hell, Barnett made Cam Robinson look as bad as anyone else that game (well, except for that one Tim Williams power shove probably).

Barnett was literally the only bright spot from that entire game for us. He is such a beast and I'm not just saying that because he plays for Tennessee.

He's incredible. He makes a gigantic, point altering play literally every single game.

Bad conditioning, horrible luck, or a mix of both?

He really does. He came up huge in clutch situations against UF and UGA, had a big game against A&M and literally was the only thing that halfway kept VOLS in the game in the first half against Bama.

Its a shame that Barnett is just now finally starting to get recognition similar to what Myles Garrett receives

Serious question. Normally on a team with lot of injuries eventually the question turns to conditioning. Something is wrong to have that many injuries unless Vols are just the unluckiest team to take the field.

Has conditioning been discussed among you guys as a possible connection to the injuries?

Butch may need to wipe the S&C staff clean and start over in December.

That's why pointing to injuries is bullshite.

Either you have SEC depth or you don't.

Name another team in the SEC, besides maybe Bama, that could afford to lose 17 players in their 2 deep.

I'll wait
