Cha ching, we have a winner, (you should have stopped right there). It'll be those two.

UNC and Duke will never leave the ACC where they hold all the cards, (see Texas in the Big 12).

UVA is not SEC material. They do not have the fan support.

But Va Tech and NC State are perfect fits. NC State gives us the lucrative RTP/North Carolna TV market plus they have exceptional fan support, good baseball and basketball, and they WANT to be here, which is important.

Va Tech would bring us the Virginia, Maryland, DC market and part of the West Virginia market.

Best case scenario: UNC and UVA. Bring in the NC, VA, and DC tv markets with competent (not great, but usually competent) football. UNC's a phenomenal hoops program, and UVA would be top half of the conference most years. Both would be an academic boost to the conference, especially UVA.

More realistic: VT and NC State

Not taking 2 teams from the same state.

The governor of Texas is one of us. We have a lot of control in the capital as Texas has gone far right and we are a bastion of political conservatism. We have political capital.

In the OSU/OU situation the problem is one man- T Boone. After giving hundreds of millions to OSU he is not going to allow OU to leave OSU in a ditch. He has the resources to cause them real problems politically if they try.

When T Boone dies then maybe OU can go alone, but until then their program is stuck. And I hope it destroys their program, the land stealing, recruit stealing son of a bitches.

Virgina Tech and Florida State to the SEC East.

Move Missouri and Vandy to the SEC West.

Not an Ole Miss fan. I like the Col Reb logo. But, I do enjoy partying with Ole Miss fans and I like to see them beat up on my teams rivals. Their uniforms are also the best in the SEC IMO.

I think we are done expanding right now. The acc will survive as long as unc and fsu stay. Since the sec won't take fsu and unc likes to be in a conference they own I don't see anything happening

Yep, into the East and then Missouri could move to the West where they belong.

but im gonna say....either va tech/virgina and north carolina/nc state, one from each state is the most likely thing to take place. but i bet NC and duke continue to play eachother

If UVA decides to go the the Big 10 and UNC 1) really wants to stay connected to Duke and 2) really is okay with SEC over the Big 10, then it is possible we could see the SEC take Duke and UNC. Otherwise, it will be NC State and V Tech.

UNC will have a lot of pressure from NC State, though, pushing them to the Big 10 instead of the SEC. I don't know if that will be a factor or not.

Awesome, this has never been discussed.

This.

But yeah, good picks OU and NC would be ideal, although unlikely to happen. OU is attached to OSU and they're a staple in the B12, they have a much easier road to the BCS in the B12 than they would in the SEC. Would take an implosion of that league for them to move SEC.
