I love this rivalry. It's been a long time since Mizzou has played a "real" rivalry game. I miss having the entire state despise Kansas and then proudly demolishing them on the football field.
Arkansas is a great choice for a rivalry matchup IMO. Just give it time and it'll bloom into a good one.

Completely agree with this. Give it 20 years and our two programs will hate each other.

Have live in NWA for 6 years. Moved in with no real hate for the Hogs, usually pulled for them in the past. Living here in Hawgville has made me already despise them. Remind me too much of the Nubbers. Only thing sports wise going in the state. I will though add I like the people of NWA and do not hate them like Cornhole fans. Just don't like the Hogs.

they have played a total of 7 times since 1906... two of those coming in bowl match ups. calling this a rivalry and giving it a cute little name and trophy is a joke. too forced.

Rivalries don't magically start at 50 games played. This isn't like trying to say Arkansas-South Carolina is a rivalry game. There is enough bad blood between these two schools and folks on the borders to know it will be a rivalry.

I would be able to tolerate the forced rivalry more if they would have named it better (Battle of the Ozarks) and been more creative with the trophy. The trophy looks like a cheap copy of the Boot.
I have no doubt it will blossom into an intense game. I already hate Miz somewhat for all the chest thumping they did for beating the Hogs during some of the darkest days in program history.
They also need to move to the West.
