People often talk down specific teams with more vigor than they openly promote their favored team.

I think this will manifest in terms of conferences as well as specific teams. B1G and PAC have been joined at the hip for ages and the Rose Bowl just cemented it after WWII. I could see them voting for each other and against say the SEC or B12.

I think its less about having each conference represented as having the largest population centers represented. That filters down to conference sometimes but not always. For example, both the ACC and SEC can cover Florida.

I think population centers will matter but brands will matter as much or more. If the committee has a choice for any of the B12 schools in TX, my guess is only the folks in austin have the brand name to get a spot. I can see the B1G pushing Iowa in for a last spot and beating Iowa State in the Big 12 for that same last spot.

Long's connection to 15 schools should have disqualified him from the committee. What happens when Okie wins the B12, Mich wins the B1G, Louisville or VaTech the ACC. He can't vote for the winner or three of the big 5? What good is he if he has to choose from second place teams?

the big 5 did it out of fear of the "BCS Busters" but they didn't really have to go so far as a comittee. It will be an issue for its duration, I imagine. It'll quickly lead to a 6-8 team setup.

This committee is so B1G heavy it is ridiculous. A 3 loss B1G champ is getting in before a 1 loss SEC team that didn't win the SECCG

I am gonna say 99% of the rant would be lucky to get out of their local jail because they do not have that much pull even in their home state.

I know I am probably the only one who sees it here .... but it is coming-in clear as a bell when I look at that graphic.

Anyone else with a beautiful mind should be able to see it as well.

I see many things ... with absolutely zero chance of the SEC having two reps for at least the next three years. After that, with the replacement of one committee member, I see the chance of a single conference having two qualifiers rise greatly, but unfortunately not from the SEC.

I still see the SEC winning six of the next ten national championships ... but I don't like what I am seeing in terms of 2014-2018 vs 2019-2023.

There is one member of that committee that is evil ... really against us. Houston, we have a problem. frick! I never saw it until just now.

She's extremely intelligent, which sets her apart from a great many on the rant.

The committee is the worst idea ever created in any athletic activity, ever.

Hell, go undefeated, dominate, win your conference but your All American Tackle, and your All American QB go out hurt on last play. They can just decide your miracle season is over.

It is easy to ID the best two teams in football, it always sorts itself out. A 4 team fixes a problem that didn't exist with a system that is going to be a complete shite show.

Yeah if ND is ranked in the top ten they will be guaranteed a spot in the playoff.

I can't help but agree with this, but I would say top 6. top 5 for sure.

And THAT is why we need an 8 team playoff. AND to make Notre Dame play a full ACC schedule. Or hell, let them go to the B1g where they really belong.

I am sure the B1G would be happy to give the A She She Mary Land back...

That's actually a negative 1 because he's the AD of our rival. If we make the playoff, his job gets harder.

The fact they went to a committee in the first place told me the SEC would never again get 2 teams in the Final Four. 13 members and only 1 with SEC only type history. That alone tells me all I need to know when it comes to voting behind closed doors. In reverse just look at the 13 and how many have a disclosed tie to Notre Dame.

Got news for you, if you only see 1 you need to get your glasses checked.
