Maybe 10%

I expect that percentage to increase somewhat with your next expansion.

Are we counting those fake chairbacks that you can have installed for a cost in this number?

Yes, it is all Tide Pride seats.

I like the way it looks and hope we do the same thing. Currently it's half chairback and half bleacher seating.

There's no reason not to, especially with the expansion. All the visitors will sit either over on the east upper or the top of the new SEZ addition.

LSU should give our fans a break!

Already answered, and heck no.

I'm hoping to eclipse the 80k mark, but I'm sure we'll settle somewhere around 73k or 74k, which is still fine.

All tBigSix teams have 80k+ stadiums, so it's more of a mental hurdle for me than an actual hurdle

I think I'd prefer purple though

I'm torn. Either would look good, though.

More about premium seating than total capacity these days IMHO. Gotta give folks a really good reason to leave the comforts of home!

Yep. They could easily add 15k in bleacher seats in the area of our next expansion but instead they are going strictly for premium seats which will amount to around 7k instead. Chairbacks, club seats and more boxes only.

JHS doesn't seem to have any chairbacks in the non-premium areas, which I find rather surprising.

Gotta give you guys your just due. You're not only ahead of the curve, you've been ahead of it for some time now. And not just in football, either.

And as I posted earlier, all of them are getting inspected and replaced/reinstalled in time for the home opener.

So no worries!

The only thing I will question about that is we looked at it after it broke, and you could tell the brackets had snapped before and it looked like they just welded them back together. Sat in the same section in 2010 and went and looked at the row again and it looked like they had just rewelded it again

The same sections in both endzone lower bowls are chairback sections. They are each part of "The Zone" club seating levels. The bottom rows are also chairbacks for field suites.

Well to be fair, that's true of most stadiums in this conference, and around the country as well...

...which makes you realize how awesome Tiger Stadium is in this regard!

They are taking out all of the seating in the east, north and west sections in order to treat the concrete. Then they are replacing or re-installing each seat. It's a $1.6 million project.

quote:

At Tiger Stadium, bleachers in the east, north and west sections of the lower bowl have deteriorated and will either be replaced or reinstalled depending on their condition, David said. The south section will not be treated because maintenance was done two years ago. The process starts with the removal of all bleachers in the aforementioned areas, David said. The concrete where the bleachers were removed will then be cleaned and waterproofed. David said waterproofing involves application of a topical coating to the concrete. The replacement or reinstallation of the bleachers will complete the project, making for sturdier seating on gamedays while protecting the concrete structure of the stadium for long-term use. These precautions will be complete before the first home game of the coming season on Sept. 6, David said. They will amount to $1.6 million.

The Daily Reveille

I'm sure it will look awesome before the home opener.

Edit:

As of 2014, all visiting fans will be removed to the east and south upper decks...the same kind of seats we Tiger fans get when we travel to your stadiums. Just FYI.

Pretty damn cool. I truthfully have never even noticed the amount of chair backs we have vs other schools.
