What year are we talking and what team is doing what? The tshirt fans in Texas switch around depending on what team is doing what. In 2005/2009, they were all Texas fans; last year a lot of them became Baylor fans; I figure this year a number have moved to A&M fans.

And that map is pretty spot on with maybe a little bit high % on hispanic A&M fans. I can guarantee pretty much one thing in this state: The hispanics will celebrate Cinco de Mayo, have their name in old english letter on the back of the family car and wear burnt orange. </it_aint_racist_if_its_true>

Great way of taking what I said out of context.

Actually my point was that if 1 in 6 people in Texas are A&M fans it would be as many as if 6 out of 6 fans in Louisiana were LSU fans. If you want an objective and scientific analysis of fanbase size here is the best I have seen to date:

New York Times Geography of College Football

Now this is based on 2010 data so Auburn is a bit inflated for instance but it's a pretty solid measure overall. The key though is A&M doesn't have to have the entire State of Texas love us in order to have a boatload of fans. This doesn't even consider that 1000 people a week are currently moving to Texas and one of the biggest problems A&M and Texas have is they are trying to hold the line at 50k students while the demand is much higher. I'm very concerned about my 2 sons' ability to get in down the road even though they are bright, my Dad went to A&M and my wife went to A&M. There are just a boatload of folks here in Texas and growing all the time and people will tend to support the schools in the states that they live. It's just a numbers game.

Don't know the numbers, but I can tell you that USC is the least popular school in California. Of the major universities, at least.

Said he lived in Houston so I assumed worked in Houston. Last I checked no military bases in Houston.

My guess is federal government and NOT ARMED FORCES.

It's Alabama's state; Auburn's just living in it

Sorry, Awebren.

OP - there's a shitload of LA folks here in Tuscaloosa. Would be interesting to know how many Louisianians leave state for college, too.

that and the # that leave the state after graduating from college, that would be an intersting figure considering they pay for our education.

Not in the cattle business. In the oil & gas business. Ultra Deep Water well control in GOM, Brazil, West Africa. I deal with all the major operators in their subsea project developments. I also deal with the major OEMs in the oil & gas field including FMC, Cameron, Aker, GE.. as well as most of the offshore drilling companies for both shallow and deepwater drilling.

When you say you are in the Oil & Gas business in Houston, TX and only know of 2 Aggie fans you are full of shite.

I know more Baylor fans in the Oil & Gas business and they aren't even a presence in this industry.

The reason no one is coming to your defense on this is because a lot of LSU and Bama fans are in the oil & gas business and they know you are full of shite as well.

Either you lied about knowing Aggie fans or you lied about being in the oil & gas business but either way, something is up. I can walk the halls at BP, Chevron, Shell, etc.. and there are hundreds and hundreds of Ags and Longhorns and quite a few LSU fans. Just about any company in the oil & gas industry in Houston is the same.

You calling someone out about pulling anything out of their arse is hilarious.

i'm not going into who or exactly what i do for a living, like you.

but i am not bullshitting you with saying i work in downtown Houston for a major major oil and gas company. i'm in IT/Management and work with the Business and Engineers daily. I personally know of 2 people from A&M that work here. One is brilliant. I haven't had the opporunity to work with the other. There are tons of UT/OU/OSU people here. Plenty of Baylor. And 4 LATech people on my floor alone.

I live in Midtown. Only place I know where Aggies congregate is Pub Fiction. i wouldn't be caught dead there.

In the parking garage of my aparment complex everyone and their Mom has some College bumper sticker on their vehicle. The majority of those are SEC, not being A&M.

So to say that 1 out 6 of the 27 million people in Texas being A&M fans, I just cannot for a moment believe that bullshite. i just don't see it.

I'd say there's a better chance that 1 out of 6 people in Texas are Hispanic, therefore no way in frick are A&M fans or could've attended A&M.
